On 5 May 2026, the AHA Centre staff and GIZ Indonesia & ASEAN team gathered in Cilegon, Banten, for the Project Closure and Learning Workshop of the German Federal Foreign Office-funded project on Institutional Strengthening and Capacity Development of the AHA Centre – Phase III.

As a longstanding partner of the AHA Centre, GIZ has supported capacity development through diverse initiatives, including trainings on anti-fraud and anti-corruption, gender equality, and workshops such as enhancing Knowledge Management, as well as advancing the AHA Centre's digitalisation journey by developing the internal knowledge management platform and streamlining operations through Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).

The workshop also provided the AHA Centre team with an opportunity to strengthen teamwork and collaboration skills, ensuring that the knowledge gained will continue to support future initiatives. A fitting close to Phase III, the workshop highlighted the importance of partnership, growth, and resilience in advancing regional disaster management capacity. This activity marked the conclusion of a collaborative journey, reflecting on lessons learned and challenges faced throughout the project’s implementation.
