Tangkoko Conservation Education, PKBM Nikita Waya, Girian (2026)

This project aims to increase the environment and conservation awareness of local youth and community of the villages surrounding the reserves and other protected forests of North Sulawesi. For this 2016-2017 school year, we develop environmental and conservation education interventions in schools in the villages of Batu Putih (Atas and Bawah), Pinangunian, Kasawari, Winenet, Sagerat, Duasudara, D

anowodu, Makawidey, Girian, Bitung, Airmadidi and Tuminting. Proyek ini bertujuan untuk melestarikan flora-fauna di Sulawesi khususnya di kawasan Tangkoko-Duasudara-Batuangus. Pendidikan konservasi ini bertujuan untuk menambah pengetahuan tentang Konservasi dan lingkungan bagi anak-anak, pemuda-pemudi serta masyarakat di desa Batu Putih Atas dan Bawah, Pinangunian, Kasawari, Winenet, Sagerat, Duasudara, Danowudu, Airmadidi dan Tuminting

The second week of Sciencecamp Programme is well underway, with the participation of the second group: Lovely Tambukan (Star Generation School), Priskila Hana Salawangi (Star Generation School), Britania Tobing (SMA Negeri 1 Bitung), Isis Catelina Wodi (SMA Negeri 2 Bitung), Lutfi Takalamingan (SMK Negeri 4 Bitung). Amongst many activities, they took part in an art workshop together with Cindy Iin Samiadji, reusing plastic pieces to create beautiful wildlife art work! cc Macaca Nigra Project

We are very happy to introduce the participants of this first week of Science Camp 2025! Reinaldo Bitalessy (SMA Negeri 1 Bitung), Fibri Sahadia (SMK Negeri 4 Bitung), Evan Katuuk (Star Generation School), Glen Manusama (SMA Negeri 2 Bitung), and Meggy Ginting (SMA Negeri 2 Bitung) are spending one week together with our TCE and Macaca Nigra Project staff for an immersive experience about wildlife conservation, research and education.

Last September, Adam and Carlotta, events/education volunteers for TCE and MNP, took part in Zoo d'Amiens Métropole's Heritage days, where visitors were able to learn more about conservation projects supported by the Zoo. Colouring activities, display, fun games, everyone had good fun! Thank you Carlotta and Adam for your help, and Amiens Zoo for all your support since 2010!
