On 15 May, Barbara had the chance to meet her sponsored children in Pedawa, Buleleng, and spend time together with the community 💙

The gathering at Luh Tu’s house brought students, family members, and Barbara together for a day full of introductions, conversations, and shared laughter.

Students enjoyed getting to know Barbara, while Barbara experienced the warmth of the community through traditional treats, fresh coconut water, and the welcoming spirit of Luh Tu’s family 🌿

The day continued with fun activities like face painting and interactive games, creating plenty of smiles and moments to remember.

At the start of the year, many of these children were still developing their reading skills. Today, they're reading with confidence. In just one year, children across Bali and Eastern Indonesia have made remarkable progress through our EdTech programme.

📚 At SDN 6 Songan, Bangli, literacy rose from 23% to 92%, while numeracy increased from 56% to 96%.

🔢 At SDN Pangadu Rade, West Sumba, numeracy climbed from 16% to 85%, and literacy grew from 4% to 64%.

These aren't just numbers. They represent children discovering the joy of learning, gaining confidence in the classroom, and opening doors to opportunities that once felt out of reach. Every lesson, every story read, and every problem solved is helping shape a brighter future.

The things children learn, the experiences they share, and the support they receive along the way help shape the people they will become.

Some partnerships go far beyond funding—they become part of a child's journey. 💙

Since 2021, Tony Bates and the Bates Family have been standing alongside Bali Children Foundation, helping create brighter futures for children in Sidetapa and Kayuputih villages through library upgrades, literacy and numeracy recovery, English for Future, and STEAM-H education. Together, these initiatives have reached and inspired hundreds of students.

This time, Tony returned not for a classroom visit, but simply to create joyful memories. He invited BCF children from Pedawa Village and their parents to spend a fun-filled day at MookiLand Bali—jumping, laughing, playing, and sharing a wonderful lunch together.

Because education is about more than learning. It's also about belonging, encouragement, and knowing that someone believes in you.

Thank you, Tony and the Bates Family, for your kindness, friendship, and unwavering commitment to Bali's children. Your support continues to create opportunities—and countless reasons to smile. 💙
