Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS)

Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS) The CSEAS, one of the leading think-tanks in Indonesia, was founded on October 10th 2005 as an independent, non-governmental, and non-profit organization.

The main purpose of the establishment of the CSEAS is to become a center of excellence on ASEAN related issues, which can assist in the development of the ASEAN Community 2015. It is essential for Indonesia and other ASEAN members to have institutions that can help disseminate information about ASEAN to the wider public, in Indonesia and the Southeast Asian region as a whole, so that the people of

ASEAN will be aware about the integration process, and can take all the necessary measures to become more prepared. The CSEAS hopes to contribute to the realization of a more people-oriented ASEAN that puts a high value on democracy and human rights.
