📢 New Article Published in Applied Quantitative Analysis (AQA) Vol. 6 No. 2

We are pleased to present:

The Alaali Systemic Risk Index (ASRI): A Vulnerability–Stress–Transmission Architecture

📊 Existing systemic-risk measures tend to examine different sources and mechanisms of risk separately. This study responds to the need for an integrated framework that connects corporate financial fragility, financial-market stress, macro-financial instability, and transmission exposure within a single architecture.

🏛️ The paper proposes four main dimensions of ASRI: Corporate Financial Fragility (leverage, liquidity, refinancing pressure, and earnings or cash-flow fragility), Financial-Market Stress (credit-market stress, equity-market and liquidity conditions, investor sentiment), Macro-Financial Instability (growth, inflation, monetary pressure, external and sovereign factors), and Transmission Exposure (the capacity for distress to spread across institutions, markets, the real economy, and sovereign linkages).

🔍 Its novelty lies not simply in combining multiple systemic-risk indicators, but in assigning distinct theoretical roles to underlying vulnerability, activating stress, transmission capacity, systemic risk pressure, and potential outcomes — particularly relevant for economies with concentrated financial systems or strong sovereign–corporate links.

🎓 The study emphasizes that ASRI remains a conceptual framework, requiring country-specific calibration, empirical testing, comparison with established measures, and robustness validation before it can be applied as an empirical or predictive index.
