It all started with a FB post from a traveler who was looking for help to support Balinese locals during the pandemic. He had this simple idea to support families in needs with some food and cute kites for their children. In fact kites are not only the Balinese’s kids favorite game, but were originally used to ask the gods for abundance and a strong harvest. Following this post, many locals and tr
avelers joined to make this project happen. Together we shared a moment with underprivileged families, interacted with them and brought smiles to their faces. We decided to make our actions more sustainable and we called our community “Unity In Diversity” after the national motto “Bhinneka Tunggal Ika”. Despite their diverse cultures, languages, religions and ethnic groups, Indonesians are united by the will to help each other, without any distinction. This solidarity certainly builds the foundations of their unity and is an universal philosophy for the whole humanity.
