Bali Reptile Rescue (BRR) is non-profit organization established to help and protect reptile. BRR program to rescue reptile from exploitation and to decrease the trade in reptile. Mission statement believes that no wild reptile should have to live in captivity and works to help stop the illegal reptile trade in Indonesia. BRR is committed to preserving reptiles and helping reptiles to return to their habitat in the wild.

The rescue of a javan spitting cobra was successfully carried out by

Spitting Cobra (Naja Sputatrix)
(Indonesian name : Ular Sendok, Ular kobra)
The Spitting Cobra is a snake that is active during the day. It is a predator that actively hunts on the ground (Terrestrial). The Spitting Cobra has a unique way of self-defense where if it feels disturbed it will raise its head and expand its neck like a spoon, then spit venom through its fangs towards the eyes of its predators / enemies that will come closer. The spitting cobra can have a total body length of up to 110 cm.

Lesser Sunda White-lipped Pit Viper (Trimeresurus insularis) (Indonesian name: Ular hijau Ekor merah, Ular mati ekor)
Lesser Sunda White-lipped Pit Viper is an arboreal, nocturnal snake that moves slowly and is commonly found waiting for and ambushing prey, so it can be found in the same habitat for up to 1-2 days. The total length of this snake can reach 85 cm in females and 60 cm in males.

Habitat: Forest, plantation, rice field, river,
Active: Nocturnal (Active at night)
Reproduction : Ovoviviparous.
Food : Lizards, lizards, rats, birds, frogs
Highly Venomous

Meet the Reticulated Python (Malayopython reticulatus), known in Indonesia as Sanca Kembang. This incredible snake, belonging to the Pythonidae family, can grow anywhere from 300 cm to a whopping 900 cm in length!

These majestic creatures are often found near water bodies like rivers, ponds, and swamps, where they patiently wait or ambush their prey rather than actively hunting (they’re passive predators). To subdue their prey, they use their powerful coils to constrict and immobilize it.

Habitat: Forests, plantations, rice fields, mangroves, and rivers.
Activity: Nocturnal (active at night).
Reproduction: Oviparous (egg-laying).
Diet: Birds, mammals, and poultry.
Venom: Non-venomous.

Reticulated Pythons thrive in diverse environments, including forests, plantations, rice fields, mangroves, and areas near rivers. As nocturnal hunters, they are most active at night, preying on birds, mammals, and occasionally poultry.

These pythons are non-venomous and reproduce by laying eggs, playing a crucial role in maintaining the balance of their ecosystems.

Reproduction: Oviparous (lays eggs).
Diet: Small mammals, mice, birds, frogs, and other snakes.
Venom: Mildly venomous (not considered highly dangerous to humans).

This beautiful snake is known for its striking appearance, often characterized by its yellow or gold rings. While it plays a vital role in maintaining the ecosystem, it sometimes finds itself in human-populated areas, requiring safe relocation.

The Water Monitor Lizard (Varanus salvator), known as Biawak in Indonesia, has been successfully released back into the wild by Gung Adi, Michael miyamoto and Arius

These fascinating reptiles belong to the Varanidae family and are easily recognized by their conical heads and rough skin, covered in small, visible scales. Their bodies are typically black or yellow with distinctive spots and pale yellow markings that run from their heads down to the base of their tails. Water monitors are diurnal, meaning they are active during the day, and can often be found resting in trees, crevices, or burrows at night. They can grow up to 180 cm in length!

Habitat : Rice fields, rivers, swamps, forests, settlements, and mangroves.
Activity : Diurnal (active during the day).
Breeding : Oviparous (lays eggs).
Diet : Small mammals, mice, frogs, snakes, and other lizards.
