A glimpse of our Nusa Dua Coral Garden during low tide.

Our restored reef has become a thriving home for countless marine life. Recently, we spotted a school of Moorish Idol gracefully playing among the corals at InterContinental Bali Resort by IHG cluster.

From Destruction to Restoration 🌊✨

Two former fish bombers from the Pelita Poto Tano community group in West Sumbawa have successfully completed the Mars Assisted Reef Restoration System (MARRS) training—marking a powerful transformation toward protecting our oceans.

The training combined 2 days of theory, 2 days of in-water practice, and 1 day of assessment, equipping participants with the skills needed to restore coral reefs. This journey highlights how local fishers can play a vital role in rebuilding marine ecosystems—creating healthy habitats for fish and securing sustainable livelihoods.

Participants included members of Pelita Poto Tano, staff from BLUD UPTD BPSDKP Sumbawa Barat, and students from FKIP UNRAM, showing strong collaboration across communities and institutions.

As part of the training, the team successfully built 100 Reef Stars on a rubble-damaged site around Paserang Island, within the Gili Balu Marine Protected Area—bringing new life to degraded reefs.

This initiative was facilitated by JARI Foundation, with MARRS trainers from Bali Blue Harmony.

🌱 Change is possible.
