Bali WISE is part of R.O.L.E. Foundation. Breaking the Poverty Cycle through Women's and Girls' Skills Education, Employment and Business Development. R.O.L.E.

Foundation believes that poverty and environmental degradation are inextricably linked. To address this problem, ROLE has set up education and training facilities in the local community of Nusa Dua, in order to generate sustainable income for the local community and at the same time, minimize environmental harm and promote restoration. On October 5th, Bali WISE joyfully welcomed our newest cohort, Intake 67, to campus for a memorable Orientation Day at the ZeroWaste Center! The day began with inspiring remarks from R.O.L.E. Foundation's Director and COO, followed by staff introductions, a scholarship orientation, and an interactive Q&A session. To build camaraderie, the students dived into a lively Treasure Hunt game—competing in team cheers and solving clues across four stations. The ultimate prize inside the treasure chest revealed a well-deserved afternoon trip to the beach, where the young women enjoyed popsicles, created social media content, and soaked in the coastal breeze before heading to the dormitories.

Orientation at Bali WISE is far more than an introduction to campus rules; it is a celebration of the courageous young women who join us to transform their lives and achieve their dreams. As Intake 66 prepares to transition into their vocational training phase, our 30 students gathered on September 29th for a comprehensive campus cleanup across the Bali WISE and R.O.L.E. Foundation facilities. Working in teams with staff guidance, the students swept, mopped, and refreshed every zone—from classrooms, offices, and dormitories to the kitchen, cafe, and evacuation routes. Held every three months ahead of welcoming new intakes, this quarterly tradition fosters communal solidarity and teamwork while allowing graduating basic-education cohorts to express gratitude for the sanctuary that housed them.

Beyond creating a clean, welcoming environment for the incoming students, the activity reinforced essential life skills in communication, mutual support, and group collaboration. The hardworking afternoon concluded on a sweet note with shared bowls of bakso and a movie night with snacks, celebrating Intake 66’s hard work and deepening their bond as they take their next big step. On September 25th, our Intake 66 students celebrated a major milestone by completing their final monthly beach cleanup at Tanjung Benoa Beach before advancing into their specialized vocational training phase. Gathering early in the morning, 30 eager young women cleared non-biodegradable plastics and marine debris along the coastline and sand dunes. Following the cleanup, the cohort returned to the ZeroWaste Center to systematically sort the collected materials and participate in hands-on circular economy workshops—crafting recycled soap, making handmade paper, and rolling seed balls for local reforestation efforts.

At Bali WISE, technical vocational education goes hand-in-hand with environmental stewardship, ensuring our students learn to protect the natural ecosystems where they live and work. By combining practical life skills with environmental conservation, this milestone leaves Intake 66 fully prepared to step into their hospitality and digital marketing training as empowered, eco-conscious future leaders. Safety first as Intake 66 steps into the real world! 🛵🛡️

As our 30 students begin their vocational training in hospitality and digital marketing, navigating daily commutes and new professional environments comes with new responsibilities. To make sure they stay safe on and off the road, Bali WISE teamed up with the Nusa Dua Police Department on September 23 for an interactive Road Safety and Anti-Narcotics Workshop!

Our students learned crucial traffic rules, defensive driving habits, and proper road gear to keep their daily commutes safe. The officers also provided eye-opening insights into drug awareness, teaching our young women how to identify subtle risks, avoid unsafe situations, and protect themselves as they enter broader society.

By pairing professional education with vital life-skills training, we ensure our students navigate their careers with confidence, awareness, and poise. Huge thanks to the Nusa Dua Police Department for empowering our future leaders! 👮‍♂️✨

Milestone unlocked for Intake 66! 📚✨

After three months of hard work and perseverance, 30 inspiring young women from Intake 66 have officially completed their comprehensive final exams! From September 14 to 19, our classroom transformed into a focused space where students demonstrated everything they’ve learned—from hospitality standards and digital marketing to English communication and professional work ethics.

Through written exams, live presentations, and practical simulations, these students showed true dedication, even organizing late-night peer study sessions and practice quizzes to ensure they were ready to excel.

Now, with a strong foundation built, our Intake 66 students are ready to step confidently into the next phase: their specialized vocational training! Join us in celebrating their resilience and wishing them luck as they take another huge step toward economic independence! 💪💫

On September 26, we celebrated the graduation of 29 remarkable young women from Bali WISE Intake 65 with a warm garden party at the ZeroWaste Center. From receiving their hard-earned certificates to honoring Putri Fajariah as our Best Student, the evening was filled with tears, laughter, and immense pride. Highlight of the day: 60% graduates secured full-time employment before even stepping across the stage! 💼✨

We wrapped up the night with our cherished Good Wish ritual, singing our anthem "I Know the Longer Way," and sharing a festive dinner under the stars with our whole team.

First impressions shape the entire guest journey, and our Bali WISE Intake 66 students are stepping up to master that responsibility! 🌟✨

During their latest Front Office class guided by Mr. Marbun, students put classroom theory into practice inside our campus mock front office setup. Working in pairs, each participant mastered the full guest check in cycle—from warm greetings and payment processing to walking guests through room amenities and coordinating with porters.

To equip our students with essential workplace competencies, Bali WISE recently partnered with First Medic to deliver a hands-on First Aid Training Workshop for 30 young women from Intake 66. During the interactive session, participants learned to observe, identify, and manage medical emergency symptoms, practicing crucial life-saving techniques such as CPR and Heimlich maneuvers using specialized training mannequins. By embedding these vital capabilities into our curriculum for every intake, Bali WISE ensures our graduates enter the fast-paced hospitality industry not only as skilled professionals, but as confident, emergency-ready leaders capable of safeguarding guests and ensuring workplace safety.

Stepping into the world of luxury hospitality! 🏨✨ Our Bali WISE Intake 66 students recently took their learning beyond the classroom with an inspiring field trip to Le Méridien Bali Jimbaran to experience 5-star hotel operations firsthand. From diving into Marriott International’s foundational values to exploring Le Méridien’s signature pillars—Chic, Cultured, and Discovery—our young women gained invaluable, behind-the-scenes insights into world-class service standards, property design, and departmental operations. Guided by the resort's incredible team, students toured the stunning property and capped off the day with an energetic trivia session that put their new knowledge to the test. 🥣✨ Our Bali WISE Intake 66 hospitality students stepped into the ZeroWaste Center kitchen for an action-packed, hands-on workshop learning the foundations of clear chicken vegetable soup and velvety cream of mushroom soup. Guided by our F&B Product teacher Ms. Dee alongside guest pro Chef Danang, all 26 students chopped, simmered, and perfected their roux to build real-world skills for their upcoming practical placements. Empowering these incredible young women with professional culinary training is at the core of our mission—and it’s all made possible thanks to our generous partners!
