Barumun Nagari Wildlife Sanctuary

Barumun Nagari Wildlife Sanctuary provides sanctuary for elephants and other endemic Sumatran wildlife. Established in 2015, we are a grassroots organisation dedicated to the conservation and preservation of Indonesia’s rich biodiversity.

BNWS is home to fifteen critically endangered Sumatran elephants who co-exisit within our 600 hectares of verdant and varied terrain in North Sumatra.
