The next partner meeting of our Pannon Future Forest project funded by Interreg Central Europe was hosted by Hrvatske šume (Croatian Forests), and the study visit was held in the unique natural environment of Kopački Rit Nature Park- Park prirode Kopački rit.

What makes this project truly unique is that it does not treat forests simply as areas to be protected, but as spaces for economic innovation. Our goal is to unlock new business opportunities in the Pannon region within the green economy – from bioeconomy and ecotourism to carbon and biodiversity markets.

During the meeting, we focused on how to turn good practices into real business opportunities. We laid the foundations of a mentor network and knowledge-sharing system that will support local actors in entering new green markets.

Within the project, we are not just developing a strategy – we are building a functioning ecosystem where nature conservation and business innovation truly meet.

The Pannon Future Forest project has officially started!

The kick-off meeting of our Pannon Future Forest project was hosted by Mecsekerdő Zrt. at the Mecsek Discovery Center , with the support of the Interreg Central Europe.

The project aims to unlock new economic opportunities in the forest-based green economy and to support businesses, forest managers and professional organisations through the establishment of a mentor network and a knowledge hub.
