Founder and Organiser of the Global Sustainable Fashion Week,
www.gsfashionweek.com The establishment of the National Fashion League Hungary Association (NFLH, Hungarian abbreviation:NDL) was timed at the date of Hungary's joining to the EU in 2004. The majority of the founder members were well-known Hungarian producers, designers, professionals of the clothing and fashion industry. Nowdays
majority of the members are designers and creative people dealing with fashion and art. The president of the NFLH acted as vice president of the European Fashion Council till June 2014, when she resigned the vice presidency to separate herselves from the activities of the president, who has not properly kept the democratic, legal, ethical way of dealing with the EFC issues and with the membership’s interest, therefore also some very reliable fashion organisations in EU had to leave EFC. NFLH has the aim to strengthen the bilateral cooperation with foreign organisations, Chambers of Fashion, Fashion Weeks, cultural institutes in order to exchange designers, artists, professionals in their fashion and art related programs, at different fashion weeks, fashion shows, exhibitions and workshop. NFLH was the member of the Euro-Mediterranean Dialogue on textile and clothing in the working group on competitiveness. NFLH cooperate with EURATEX (European Apparel and Textile Organisation). The following presentations, exhibitions and fashion shows were coordinated and organised by the Association inviting own members and other Hungarian brands, designers and producers from the textile and fashion industry to participate in:
- Hungarian Days in Poland: Hungarian fashion exhibition at the National Pavilon and fashion show
- Elegance and Prestige in Brussels: Hungarian fashion exhibition
- Hungarian Days in Russia: Hungarian fashion exhibition and fashion show
- MOTEXHA Exhibition in Dubai - two times: Hungarian national pavilons for fashion. NDLH was one of the main supporters of the Budapest Fashion Week in autumn 2014 and in spring 2015, where many NDLH members (designers, folk artist, jewellers) and foreign guest designers had the opportunity to show their collection and artworks with great success. The NDLH is searching the ways, how to deal with the sustainability in the fashion and design. For this purpose an ECO Team of the National Fashion League Hungary was created, which integrates designers, artists and professionals working with eco friendly approach to fashion and design. NFLH is Founder and Organizer of the Global Sustainable Fashion Week since 2016, which is now the most powerful sustainable and ethical fashion week in Central Europe (www.gsfashionweek.com)
