In 1989, Zsuzsa Dárdai, János Szaxon-Szász, István Tenke and Ervin Zsubori founded the Shadow Weavers Art Group, followed by the international journal Shadow Weavers Electrographic Art (later Shadow Weavers Co-media) in 1990 which they became the editors of. The journal focused, in an unparalleled way in Central – and Easter-Europe, on presenting the artistic potentials of electrography (copy art,
fax-art and computer art), its techniques and methods, publishing 83 issues. The Shadow Weavers Electrographic Art Association was formed around this axis which became one of the most significant artistic initiatives at the turn of the century. It engaged and presented the works of more than fifty artists from all around the globe and organized almost a hundred exhibitions and art projects both in Hungary and internationally, proving the legitimacy of electrographic art and the artistic potentials of machines previously only used in offices. Throughout their activity, they created the Shadow Weavers Foundation, the Light-Shadow Art Association and they organized the artworks that they received from the international electrographic art community into the Shadow Weavers Archive. The first fifteen years of their activity was closed by the publication of the Shadow Weavers book.
1989-ben Dárdai Zsuzsa, Saxon-Szász János, Tenke István és Zsubori Ervin megalapította az Árnyékkötők Alkotócsoportot, majd 1990-ben az általuk szerkesztett Árnyékkötők electrographic art (később Árnyékkötők co-media) nemzetközi művészeti folyóiratot, amely Közép-Európában egyedülálló módon, az elektrografika – copy-art, fax-art, és computer-art – lehetőségeinek, alkotói módszereinek bemutatására koncentrált, s 32 száma jelent meg. E mag köré épülve a korszak egyik legmarkánsabb kezdeményezéseként indult meg az Árnyékkötők elektrografikai csoport, amely 1991-től félszáz magyar és külföldi alkotót vonultatva fel, közel száz hazai és nemzetközi kiállítás és akció keretében bizonyította az elektrografika létjogosultságát, és az irodatechnikai eszközök művészi felhasználásának lehetőségét térségünkben. Működésük során létrehozták az Árnyékkötők Alapítványt, a Fény-Árnyék Művészetei Egyesületet, illetve a beérkező alkotásokból létrejött az Árnyékkötők Archívum.
