🌍 Erasmus+ International Professional Programme in Budapest 🇭🇺 🇹🇷 🇮🇹
From 31 August to 4 September 2026, the Ecocenter Foundation hosted the third international activity of the Erasmus+ Small-scale Partnership project “Institutional Strengthening in Disaster Risk Reduction through Green Disaster Systems!” in Budapest.

📌 Activity 3: Guideline Preparation and Good Practice Review Activity
The programme brought together 18 participants from three countries – 9 from Türkiye, 4 from Italy and 5 from Hungary. The main focus of the international meeting was disaster risk reduction, climate adaptation, sustainability, environmental education, and the exchange of international experiences and good practices.
During the professional programme, the participating organisations, experts and participants introduced their work and activities. Dr. Zsolt Török from the Department of Environmental Security at Wesley János College gave a professional lecture, followed by a presentation by Klára Sajgó-Kassay from VALYO – City and River Association, focusing on community initiatives and public spaces along the Danube.
🚒 We also visited the Central Museum of Disaster Management, where Museum Director Imre Berki introduced the participants to the history and development of disaster management in Hungary.
🌿 As part of the programme, participants also visited the Szemlőhegy Cave, where they had the opportunity to discover Hungary’s unique natural heritage and learn more about the importance of protecting natural environments.
🌍 During our professional visit to the Lechner Knowledge Centre, we explored topics including climate adaptation, the NATéR system, flood and drought monitoring, and GIS-based solutions.
The Budapest meeting offered an excellent opportunity for the Turkish, Italian and Hungarian participants to exchange knowledge and experiences, discover new approaches and good practices, build professional connections, and further strengthen international cooperation.
