Our Charity Gala Dinner will take place Saturday, 20 March, promising a special evening of celebration, a fantastic opportunity to meet old friends, leave with new and most importantly fundraising for our charity partners.

My face hurts from laughter- a true sign of a great night at Grund Színház 's Russian Roulette

In the beautiful and very cosy interior of Brody House, we sat down with friends and even made friends with our neighbours at next table!

20+ people. One pub. Plenty to talk about. 🍀

Last night’s IHBC First Friday brought together around 20 people at The Scotsman for a genuinely enjoyable evening of conversation, new introductions and familiar faces.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. This is exactly what First Fridays are meant to be: informal, welcoming and a very good way to end the week.

We’ll be back at The Scotsman for the next First Friday in November, from 19:00.

📚🇮🇪 Colm Tóibín in Budapest - 2nd of October

Acclaimed Irish writer Colm Tóibín will deliver the The 13th Seamus Heaney Memorial Lecture on Friday, 2nd October at the the Széchenyi Academy of Letters and Arts.

Tóibín will recieve the Budapest Grand Prize presented by Mayor Karácsony as the guest of honour at this year's Budapest International Book Festival. Three times Booker short-listed, he has been hailed by the Boston Globe as ‘‘one of the world’s best living literary writers.’’ The Hungarian translation of his best-selling biographical novel of Thomas Mann, The Magician, will be launched by Park Könyvkiadó this month.

Október 2-án, pénteken Budapestre érkezik Colm Tóibín, a kortárs ír irodalom egyik legelismertebb szerzője, aki a Széchenyi Irodalmi és Művészeti Akadémián tartja meg a 13. Seamus Heaney Emlékelőadást.

Tóibín az idei Budapesti Nemzetközi Könyvfesztivál díszvendégeként átveszi a Budapest Nagydíjat is, amelyet Karácsony Gergely főpolgármester ad át. A háromszoros Booker-díj-jelölt ír szerzőt a Boston Globe „a világ egyik legjobb élő irodalmi szerzőjeként” méltatta.

A Park Könyvkiadó gondozásában idén magyarul is megjelenik Tóibín Thomas Mann életéről szóló, nagy sikerű regénye, A mágus (The Magician).
