🌍🏃 SPIN – Sports and Sustainability Hackathon | Turning Ideas into Action through Sport
As part of WP3 of the SPIN project – Sporting a Path to an Inclusive and Greener World, young people took part in the Sports and Sustainability Hackathon, a participatory workshop focused on developing practical solutions to local challenges related to 🌱 sustainability, 🤝 social inclusion and sport.
Working in small teams and using non-formal and experiential learning methods, participants explored real-life challenges, shared ideas and transformed them into concrete community-based solutions.
Activities included:
🧊 Welcome, introduction and team-building icebreaker
🔎 Identifying local challenges related to sport, sustainability and inclusion
📊 SWOT analysis to explore strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats
💡 Brainstorming and selecting innovative solutions
📝 Developing an Idea Canvas covering the problem, solution, target group, expected impact and first implementation steps
🎤 Three-minute team pitch presentations followed by feedback and questions
💬 Final reflection and sharing key takeaways
Throughout the Hackathon, participants strengthened important skills such as teamwork, creativity, communication, critical thinking and problem-solving, while learning how to turn ideas into realistic initiatives that can benefit their communities.
