HEARING AND READING THE ENGLISH BIBLE
A BUDAVÁRI EVANGÉLIKUS GYÜLEKEZETBEN
2026. március 5-től, kéthetente csütörtökönként 18.00-19.30 között.

Mivel foglalkozunk?
Minden alkalom kezdetén egy 20-25 perces bevezetés („előadás” ppt-én) hangzik el (az angol Biblia történetéről, szerkezetéről, könyveiről, műfajairól; a Biblia könyveinek szerkezetéről, műfajairól stb.)
Kiválasztunk egy-egy bibliai részt (pl. A hegyi beszéd, a Biblia legszebb imádságai stb.), azt meghallgatjuk, elolvassuk, szabadon beszélgetünk róla.
Elolvassuk a következő vasárnapi igehirdetés textusait.
Alkalmaként amerikai eredetű énekeinkből válogatunk (pl. EÉ: 521,386, 244, 68)
Kik számára nyitott az alkalom?
Bárkinek, bármely korosztálynak, minden érdeklődőnek a gyülekezeten belül és kívül, felekezeti hovatartozás, elkötelezettség nélkül is.
Aki a Biblia olvasásával is szeretné fejleszteni az angol tudását.
Akik csak hallgatni szeretnének.
Hol lesznek az alkalmak?

Szükség van-e saját angol nyelvű Bibliára?
Ha van, érdemes magunkkal hozni, de a szövegeket szétosztjuk és/ vagy kivetítjük.

READING CIRCLE
In the Buda Castle Lutheran Congregation
From March 5, 2026, every other Thursday, 6:00–7:30 PM.
Led by: Dr. Tibor Fabiny
Retired Professor, literary historian, lay theologian
What will we do?
At the beginning of each session, there will be a 20–25 minute introduction (“lecture” with PowerPoint) on topics such as the history of the English Bible, its structure, its books, genres, and the structure and literary forms of the biblical books, etc.
We will select specific biblical passages (e.g. the Sermon on the Mount, the most beautiful prayers of the Bible, etc.), listen to them, read them, and discuss them freely.
We will read the Scripture texts appointed for the following Sunday’s sermon.
Occasionally, we will also choose from among our English-American-origin hymns (e.g. EÉ: 521, 386, 244, 68).
Who is welcome?
Anyone, of any age group, all who are interested—both within and outside the congregation—regardless of denominational background or level of commitment.
Those who would like to improve their English through reading the Bible.
Those who simply wish to listen.
Where will the sessions take place?
25 Fortuna Street, Sára Room
(Entrance on the right side of the church)
Do I need my own English Bible?
If you have one, it is worth bringing it along, but the texts will be distributed and/or projected.
