Az egyesület sokszínű kulturális tevékenységet folytat. 2002 óta működtetjük az Információs irodát és a Teleházat. Fontos tevékenységünk a kulcskompetenciák fejlesztésére épülő felnőttképzési programok megvalósítása. Ennek részeként komplex fejlesztési programokat dolgoztunk ki. Ezek egyike a munkaerő-piaci humánszolgáltatások keretében végzett pályaorinetációs, pályakorrekciós, álláskeresési tan
ácsadó tevékenységünk. Our organization, the Bihari Népfőiskola, deals with adult education since 2001. Its operational area is the Region of Észak-Alföld, particularly the Sub region of Berettyóújfalu. The Region of Észak-Alföld is the part of the 25 least-developed regions of Europe. The Sub region of Berettyóújfalu is one of the 33 least-developed sub regions of Hungary. The Bihari Népfőioskola primarily engaged in the programmes that develop skills and abilities in the field of adult education. From the 8 key competences, approved by the European Union in 2003, we laboured the followings taking into account the previous qualification: the communication in mother tongue, digital competence, mathematical competence, ICT(Information communication Technology), sense of initiative and entrepreneurship, social and civic competences, learning to learn and cultural awareness and expression. Generally these courses are suitable to develop every social class. However, our organization aim to help to people in a disadvantage, without qualification/low educational attainment, living in socially poor conditions, unprofessional or obsolete professional people. Our target groups are often members of the ethnic minority. Beside the development of the key competences we undertake vocational training depending on our opportunities and the social demand. Since 2004, our organization has realized 6 European Union tenders, 2 tenders are under implementation. All of these projects deal with the development of skills and abilities of adults, our two professional trainings are based on that. In this context we train people to be social experts and helpers.
