The 2026 season has certainly tested Britain’s Dragon fleets, with the weather playing a major part in this year’s Regional Championships.

Across the country, our regional events have brought together Dragon sailors for close racing, great competition and the camaraderie that makes the class so special.

Sadly, not every championship was able to go ahead as planned. Extreme winds prevented any racing at the Scottish Championship, while the Northern Championship was also unable to take place.

For those events that did make it onto the water, there was plenty of competitive Dragon racing to celebrate. Swipe through for a look back at the BDA Regional Championships of 2026 and the sailors, boats and clubs that made them happen.

A huge thank you to all the host clubs RFYC - Royal Forth Yacht Club Medway Yacht Club Royal Corinthian Yacht Club Cowes Corinthian Yacht Club Aldeburgh Yacht Club Royal Thames Yacht Club race teams, volunteers and competitors who supported the championships this season, whatever the British weather threw at them.

2021 XS RIB (XS-700 Deluxe model) has blue tubes on light grey glass fibre (RAL 9002), four single seats, double centre console, and treadmaster non-slip light grey flooring.

The last quarter has been full of Dragon activity, much of it involving Classic and Vintage boats.
