"I am the Lord who heals you." Exodus 15:26
This verse reveals God as JEHOVAH RAPHA: The Lord who heals. God promised the people of Israel protection against disease if they listened to Him, did what was right in His eyes, and obeyed Him. God's promise covers all types of ailments—physical illness, emotional distress, and spiritual well-being. This means God is both Restorer and Fortifier.
God is the greatest healer, and there is no disease higher than God's healing power. In God, we can find healing immediately, or it may be a process that happens over time as we grow deeper in our faith. When we believe in God as our healer, it provides great hope and strength, engaging the believer to trust in a power more potent than a medical diagnosis.
Believing in God for healing requires a firm faith with deep conviction. Always remain steadfast in prayer and study God's word to build your faith; repeat God's promises instead of meditating on the illness.
Remaining in faith means standing in hope even when physical circumstances do not change immediately, and viewing the situation from a spiritual perspective instead of staying focused on the sickness.
PATIENCE AND GOD'S TIMING
God’s timing is often different from man’s timing. Even if God takes time to act, it does not mean He won’t do what He set out to do; rather, it is an opportunity for faith to grow stronger. God uses various means to heal His children, such as immediate miracles, the passage of time, or through medical professionals.
While it is encouraging for Christians to ask for healing in prayer, healing is ultimately a gift from God's grace and wisdom, which sometimes allows suffering to occur to accomplish an eternal objective.
HOW TO STAY FIRM IN FAITH WHEN YOU ARE ILL
Confess the Word: Always declare the Word regarding healing to build confidence in God's promises.
Persist in Prayer: Even if healing does not happen immediately, consistent prayer and praise will help you stay spiritually focused on God’s plan instead of allowing anxiety to overwhelm you or lead you into disobedience.
Resist Fear: Do not let fear and doubt diminish your confidence. Instead, declare God's promises and take every negative thought captive.
To everyone who is sick today: You can find strength by remembering that the same God who was faithful to the Israelites—providing protection, healing, and deliverance—has not changed. He offers you the same love and faithfulness to save you today, and He is the source of healing for all diseases.
Remember this: A doctor can give you treatments, but the one who heals is called JEHOVAH RAPHA (The Lord who heals)!
