🎓 A celebration of achievement!

We are thrilled to celebrate the graduation of four Thrive Ansanm scholarship recipients from the University of the Renaissance of Jérémie!

Congratulations to:
• Dorval Denilson — Civil Engineering
• Patrick Belfort — Psychology
• Pierre Jameson — Civil Engineering
• Standley Joassaint — Education Science

We are incredibly proud of these four young leaders and all they have accomplished. We also want to especially acknowledge Standley Joassaint, who was the first laureate of the education sciences department. We look forward to watching each of them grow in their professions and use their knowledge and skills to make a positive impact in their communities.

This celebration was especially meaningful to us because of our close partnership with the University of the Renaissance of Jérémie, one of the leading higher education institutions in Grand’Anse. We are grateful to Rector Jean Ouston Lestin, whose leadership helped make our partnership possible.

We were also honored that our Executive Director and Founder, Josh Gray, was selected to serve as the witness for the graduation ceremony, while our Country Director and Co-Founder, Maillard Magloire, was selected as a witness for the Faculty of Psychology.

We are grateful to be part of these students’ journeys—and excited to see where their education takes them next! 🇭🇹

On behalf of our entire team, we extend our deep gratitude to the administration of Ecole des Infirmières Notre-Dame du Perpétuel Secours de Jérémie (EINDPS) for honoring Thrive Ansanm with a Plaque of Honor and Merit, and for recognizing each of our team members with a Certificate of Honor and Merit.

EINDPS is one of Haiti's premier nursing programs and is leading the way in training the next generation of nurses in the Grand'Anse department. We are proud to partner with this outstanding institution by providing scholarships to nursing students, and we are truly honored to receive this special recognition.

When we started Thrive Ansanm in Jérémie five years ago, we had few resources and a small team of dedicated staff, but we also had a big vision. This recognition is a moment to reflect on how far we've come, and yet it is only the beginning. We remain committed to our mission of empowering young people in Haiti through education, technology, and mentoring, and we are grateful to every member of our team for their outstanding contributions to this work.

We also want to celebrate three Thrive Ansanm students, Jerissa Lafleur, Daniel Berthony Syllas, and Osna Figaro, who recently graduated from EINDPS. We are so proud of them, and we know they will use their profession to serve their families, their communities, and their country for years to come. Bright, motivated young people like them are the reason we do what we do.

We are incredibly proud of Jerissa Lafleur, Daniel Berthony Syllas, and Osna Figaro, three outstanding Thrive Ansanm scholarship recipients who recently graduated with degrees in Nursing Science from the École des Infirmières Notre-Dame du Perpétuel Secours de Jérémie (EINDPS).

EINDPS is the premier nursing institution in the Grand’Anse Department, and all three graduates demonstrated excellence throughout their training, both in the classroom and through their practical work. They are passionate about serving their communities by caring for those who are ill and helping improve access to healthcare.

We especially want to recognize Osna Figaro, who graduated as the second laureate in their entire class—an incredible accomplishment!

Finally, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the sponsors who made their journeys possible. These graduates reached this milestone through their own hard work, dedication, and merit, but they would not be here without your generosity. We are deeply grateful to all of our donors who are partnering with us to empower the next generation of Haitian leaders through education, mentoring, and technology.

We are confident that these graduates will use their profession to serve their communities in meaningful ways for years to come. We wish Jerissa, Daniel, and Osna all the best as they continue their professional and personal journeys!

It’s no secret that Haiti is facing enormous challenges. Economic hardship, unemployment, and insecurity have made life increasingly difficult for your Haitian family.

But behind these challenges are thousands of bright, determined young Haitians with enormous potential. Young people who are studying nursing, medicine, engineering, education, and other fields. Young people who are working hard, dreaming big, and preparing to become the teachers, healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs, and leaders their communities need.

This is why Thrive Ansanm exists.

We believe Haiti’s greatest resource is its people. By providing young Haitians with access to education, technology, and mentoring, we’re helping remove barriers and create opportunities for promising young people to develop their potential.

Together “ansanm” we can empower young people in Haiti to thrive.

Congratulations to Thrive Ansanm scholarship recipients Jerissa LaFleur, Daniel Berthony Syllas, and Figaro Osna, who recently completed their final research projects at the Notre Dame School of Nursing in Jérémie, Haiti!

These three outstanding young people are preparing to use their education to serve others in their community. Their research tackled difficult but deeply important issues, including access to healthcare and living conditions among teen mothers, as well as intrafamilial sexual violence—challenges that too often go overlooked.

We are incredibly proud of their hard work, determination, and commitment to making a difference through their profession. They will graduate later this month before taking the government licensing exam to become registered nurses. We’re cheering them on as they complete this important chapter and begin their professional journeys! 🎓🩺

We believe that every student has the potential to succeed and lead, but they shouldn't have to navigate that journey alone. That’s why our mentoring program connects dedicated university students in Haiti with qualified local professionals who offer wisdom, experience, and support.

By pairing students with mentors who understand their path, we’re not just enabling them to earn a degree—we’re helping them build the confidence, skills, and networks they need to become the next generation of changemakers in their communities.

Congratulations to Guethie on graduating from University Lumière with her medical degree! 🩺🎓 When we first met Guethie, she was a soft-spoken 22-year-old living with her parents in Carrefour and dreaming of becoming a doctor. Her family’s economic situation was very difficult, but a scholarship in 2019 made it possible for her to begin pursuing that dream. Her journey was far from easy, as she navigated gang violence, dangerous commutes, lockdowns, and eventually completed her residency far from home in Hinche.

Through it all, Guethie persevered. She recently told our team, “Things were not easy at all… but the Lord made a way.” We are incredibly proud of her and deeply grateful to her generous sponsor whose faithful support helped make this achievement possible. Guethie’s story is a powerful reminder of what can happen when a determined young person is given the opportunity to pursue their potential.

Every young person deserves the opportunity to learn, dream, and build a meaningful future. But for many students in Haiti, financial hardship, limited access to technology, and a lack of support can make that opportunity feel out of reach.

That’s why Thrive Ansanm walks alongside young Haitians from kindergarten through university—providing access to education, technology, and mentoring. We help students stay in school, provide access to laptops and reliable internet through our resource center, and connect university students with mentors who offer guidance, encouragement, and support along the way.

But the goal is bigger than helping students graduate. It’s about creating a pathway for young people to discover their potential, pursue meaningful careers, become leaders, and contribute to the future of their communities and Haiti.

“Ansanm” means “together” in Haitian Creole. And that is at the heart of what we do: we believe young people thrive when we invest in them and walk alongside them—together. 🇭🇹

With graduation just around the corner, this milestone represents years of hard work, perseverance, and dedication.

At Thrive Ansanm, our mission is to empower young people in Haiti to thrive through education, technology, and mentoring—not simply to help students earn a diploma, but to equip them to become leaders who strengthen their communities. Daniel, Figaro, and Jerissa are living examples of that mission, and we are proud of what they have accomplished. We can't wait to see the lives they will impact in the years ahead.
