Congratulations to Guethie on graduating from University Lumière with her medical degree! 🩺🎓 When we first met Guethie, she was a soft-spoken 22-year-old living with her parents in Carrefour and dreaming of becoming a doctor. Her family’s economic situation was very difficult, but a scholarship in 2019 made it possible for her to begin pursuing that dream. Her journey was far from easy, as she navigated gang violence, dangerous commutes, lockdowns, and eventually completed her residency far from home in Hinche.

Through it all, Guethie persevered. She recently told our team, “Things were not easy at all… but the Lord made a way.” We are incredibly proud of her and deeply grateful to her generous sponsor whose faithful support helped make this achievement possible. Guethie’s story is a powerful reminder of what can happen when a determined young person is given the opportunity to pursue their potential.

Every young person deserves the opportunity to learn, dream, and build a meaningful future. But for many students in Haiti, financial hardship, limited access to technology, and a lack of support can make that opportunity feel out of reach.

That’s why Thrive Ansanm walks alongside young Haitians from kindergarten through university—providing access to education, technology, and mentoring. We help students stay in school, provide access to laptops and reliable internet through our resource center, and connect university students with mentors who offer guidance, encouragement, and support along the way.

But the goal is bigger than helping students graduate. It’s about creating a pathway for young people to discover their potential, pursue meaningful careers, become leaders, and contribute to the future of their communities and Haiti.

“Ansanm” means “together” in Haitian Creole. And that is at the heart of what we do: we believe young people thrive when we invest in them and walk alongside them—together. 🇭🇹

Congratulations to Thrive Ansanm scholarship recipients Daniel Berthony Syllas, Figaro Osna, and Jerissa LaFleur on completing their presentations for their final nursing internship at the Notre Dame School of Nursing in Jérémie! With graduation just around the corner, this milestone represents years of hard work, perseverance, and dedication.

At Thrive Ansanm, our mission is to empower young people in Haiti to thrive through education, technology, and mentoring—not simply to help students earn a diploma, but to equip them to become leaders who strengthen their communities. Daniel, Figaro, and Jerissa are living examples of that mission, and we are proud of what they have accomplished. We can't wait to see the lives they will impact in the years ahead.

Congratulations to Jubertha Saintilus! 🎉

After earning her nursing degree from Université Moderne d'Haïti, Jubertha recently completed her final community health internship at the Saint Joseph Health Center in Abricots through a scholarship from Thrive Ansanm. Throughout her internship, she provided vaccinations, supported prenatal and general consultations, visited families in their homes, and participated in community health education and disease prevention campaigns—putting years of hard work into practice while serving her community.

Jubertha's journey is a reminder that education is about more than earning a diploma—it's about equipping the next generation of Haitian leaders to create lasting change in their communities. Congratulations, Jubertha! We are proud of your perseverance, compassion, and dedication, and we can't wait to see the lives you'll impact as a nurse.

Today Thrive Ansanm students joined Découvrir la Grand'Anse, many people from the city of Jeremie, and several other community organizations to clean Plaj Anse d'Azur. Anse d'Azur is a beautiful natural landmark for the city of Jeremie, a place where people can enjoy themselves year-round, and we were happy to help clean up trash and make the beach more beautiful.

We were honored to have Dr. Nadege Narcisse Lafortune, the leading pediatrician in Jeremie, as our guest speaker for our recent Thrive Ansanm meeting on Saturday, April 25.

Dr. Narcisse shared powerful insights on the value of mentorship, the importance of hard work, and the courage it takes to pursue your calling—no matter the obstacles. Her passion and dedication for her profession are evident in her words and actions.

At Thrive Ansanm, we are committed to empowering young people in Haiti to thrive, and one way we do this is by connecting them with inspiring professionals such as Dr. Narcisse. She embodies the kind of impact we hope our students will one day make in their own professions, and we are deeply grateful for her time, her voice, and her unwavering dedication.

During this meeting, Thrive Ansanm was proud to present Dr. Narcisse with a Certificate of Honor and Merit for her contributions to children’s health and her service to the community of Jeremie.

We also had the honor of presenting Geralda Sylvain, a Thrive Ansanm Mentor, with a Certificate of Excellence for her recent election as the new president of the Rotaract Club de Jérémie, which underlines her outstanding leadership and community engagement.

We extend our congratulations to them both, and we thank them for using their influence to empower young people in Haiti to thrive.
