Rise2Shine - A Charitable Childcare Provider

Rise2Shine is a non-profit organization established to help alleviate the suffering of young children living in Haiti.

R2S’s early childhood education programs teach fundamental skill sets which will prepare a child for the future. Trained mentors will follow detailed lesson plans focusing on core elements such as:
Social - Refers mostly to the ability to form attachments, play with others, co-operation and sharing, and being able to create lasting relationships with others. Physical - Development of Fine (small)

and Gross (large) Motor Skills. Intellectual - The process of making sense of the world around them. Creative - The development of special abilities creating talents. Music, Art, Language, Writing, Reading, and Singing are all ways for creative development to take place. Emotional - Development of self-awareness, self-confidence, and coping with feelings as well as understanding them

Additionally, R2S places a great emphasis on healthcare. Infectious diseases continue to blight the lives of poor children across the world, 20 million of whom die from a lack of basic vaccinations and improper sanitation. At R2S we will ensure that every student receives proper preventative healthcare and immunizations. In addition, each child will have access to hand washing facilities, clean restrooms, and fresh drinking water. This is a vital first step towards improving hygiene by providing children with the knowledge and resources to implement proper sanitation practices in their own communities.

Today marks a special moment: on 11/11/11, we opened our doors in Fonds Parisien, Haiti, with just a handful of children and a bold belief in hope, safety, and education. That day rightly became the founding moment of Rise2Shine—and thanks to you, our donors, partners, and friends, what began as a modest mission has grown into something extraordinary.

Because of you:
• We’ve served over 825,000 meals to children in the community.
• We’ve grown from the first intake to more than 70 children in our school.
• We’ve managed this mission with complete transparency: every donated dollar goes to the school.

We remember the early days: arriving in rural Haiti after the 2010 earthquake, seeing children with orange hair (a sign of severe malnutrition) and knowing that waiting was not an option. We also remember the local leadership: our school director, Lisana Fidele, who has led from day one and returned to serve after losing her own son in the quake.

Today, we pause, we celebrate, and we recommit. Because while much has been accomplished, the need remains. Your belief in us creates protection and opportunities for children who otherwise would go without.

Today marks 13 years since we founded Rise2shine on 11-11-11 in Haiti. We met mothers facing unimaginable hardships—living in huts within tent cities, many having survived assaults, some unable even to recall their children's ages or the day itself. Hearing their stories was a powerful reminder of resilience in the face of adversity.

Thanks to our incredible donors, especially our monthly supporters, Rise2shine is able to provide a safe and healthy environment for these children. We are deeply grateful for each of you who has made this mission possible. We are witnessing hope and strength daily, one child at a time. Thank you for standing with us.
