Fondation Alliance Verte is a Haitian foundation whose vision is to contribute to build a society that respects its environment and all forms of life.

Marylin,one of its founder has been helping the street dogs and cats for many years. Through this project its mission is to build a shelter, to rescue dogs and cats and get them adopted. Care for the strays and help owners who cannot afford to care for their pets. Conduct spay and neuter campaigns, raise awareness regarding animal abuse and educate people on how to love, respect and treat their pets and all animals.

UPDATE!
Our sweet boy has been named Darko!
We took him to the veterinarian yesterday, and we have some good news! His distemper test came back negative. What a relief! 🙏
Darko does have a respiratory infection, and we also discovered that one of his back legs was broken in the past but did not heal properly. We don’t know what he has been through or how long he has been struggling on the streets, but his condition tells us he has not had an easy life. 💔
Now that he is safe, we are doing everything we can to help him recover, regain his strength, and feel better.
Darko is such a sweet boy, and he deserves a chance at a healthier, happier life. We are taking things one step at a time and will keep you updated on his progress.

We got him! HE IS SAFE!
As planned, yesterday we went back to rescue the emaciated black dog we had been checking on. And it went very well.
He offered no resistance at all. He was so sweet, and we were able to bring him to safety without any struggle. We are so relieved to have him off the streets.
Unfortunately, he is sick. 💔 We are hoping it is only a respiratory infection, but we are worried it could be distemper, a highly contagious and potentially deadly virus in dogs.
We had to find a place where he could stay temporarily in quarantine.
Unfortunately, yesterday was a public holiday, and all the veterinary clinics were closed. We couldn’t get him examined, but we will take him to the vet as soon as possible.
For now, he is safe, and that is already a big step forward. We don’t know what lies ahead, but we will do our best to help him.

UPDATE ON THE EMACIATED BLACK DOG
We have been checking on him regularly and asking people in the area about him. He is always around the same place, either there or across the street, and that is where he sleeps.
We are planning to try to catch him this Saturday so we can finally get him the help he needs. As you can see, at the end of the video, beside being emaciated and probably sick, his back leg is weak and needs to be checked.
We really hope everything goes well. We know it may not be easy, but we want to give this poor boy a chance at a better life.

A BIG THANK YOU TO ANIMAL KIND INTERNATIONAL!
We would like, once again, to express our heartfelt gratitude to Animal Kind International, an amazing organization that believes in us and continues to support our mission to rescue and care for animals in Haiti.
Thanks to their generous donations, we have been able to:
-Vaccinate twenty of our dogs
-Spay community dogs to help prevent unwanted litters
-Provide much-needed veterinary care for some of our cats and dogs
-Build an additional catio, giving our cats more space and a better environment
Every one of these things makes a real difference in the lives of the animals we care for. In a country where resources are extremely limited and the needs are overwhelming, this support means more than words can express.

A little update on the emaciated black dog we found in Pétion-Ville.
With the traffic and insecurity here, moving from one place to another is never easy. But two days after seeing this poor, emaciated dog, we went back to the area to look for him.
We didn’t find him in the exact same spot, but thankfully, we spotted him wandering the streets not too far away.
And then something truly amazing happened… he recognized us and was so happy to see us again! ❤️
We had forgotten to bring a bowl, so we had to put his food directly on the ground again. But that didn’t matter. What mattered was finding him and being able to feed him once more.
We don’t know his story yet, or how long he has been struggling in the streets. But we know he needs help, and we will do our best to help him.
One small step at a time! ❤️🙏

New case. 💔
While driving through Pétion-Ville after dropping a neighbor’s dog at the vet to be spayed, we saw this poor, emaciated black dog sleeping in front of a parking lot. He was so thin we could not simply drive away.
We had just purchased some canned food to give medicine to the dog we had brought to the vet. When we saw him, we stopped and gave him some food.
We don’t know his story yet, but we will do our best to help him. We hope we can gain his trust, get him the care he needs, and give him a chance at a better life. We are at full capacity but this dog needs help and we cannot turn our backs on him!

Remember Galla and her five babies, rescued from the streets in 2022?
Galla and two of her babies still live with us, while the other three were adopted.
Sadly, we lost contact with one of them when her owner, an expat, had to leave everything behind after she and her husband were kidnapped and held captive for more than a month. We have no idea where they are today or how their dog is doing. We know she was left behind 🥲. That is one of the hardest parts of rescuing animals in a country where insecurity affects everyone. 💔 On a happier note, we know that the other two are well cared for. And finally, this past weekend, we were able to go and see them and found them happy and healthy!
With the insecurity here, simply moving from one place to another can be so difficult. Every time we are able to do something like this, we are incredibly grateful.

Yesterday was an important day for our dogs.
Our veterinarian came to vaccinate 65 of them. The other 7 had already been vaccinated earlier this year.
It took more than three hours to vaccinate all 65 dogs,
This was only possible because of the people who donate and support our rescue. Without your help, we could not have done this.
Vaccinations are an essential part of keeping our dogs healthy by protecting them from preventable diseases. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps us provide the care they need.

Noah’s update! She was rescued on August 19th after being hit by a car. A kind person found her and brought her to us.
We held on hope that she would walk again for a month. Sadly, we now know that she will not walk again. 💔
But Noah is eating well and having regular bowel movements. She deserves the best and most comfortable life we can give her.
This is our first time caring for a handicapped cat, so we would be very grateful for any advice, tips, or experience you can share with us. Please share! We want to learn everything we can to make Noah’s life as comfortable and happy as possible. She may never walk again, but that doesn’t mean her life cannot still be full of love. ❤️

Another happy rescue!!
Our baby Nougat is growing! ❤️
It’s hard to believe how much she has changed since the day we rescued her from the streets,four months ago. Watching her grow, and discover the joy of being safe and cared for makes every rescue worth it.
From a little lost soul wandering the streets to a happy, growing girl, this is what rescue is all about.
