For many years, Michou was being taking care of, in her neighborhood, by an expat. Unfortunately, like so many, she left the country due to the insecurity ( kidnappings, gang violence). That expat was helping Michou’s owner who did not have the means to care for her. We saw Michou once In 2021, when we went to rescue another dog in that same area. A few days ago we found out her owner passed away last year, that she had no home, nobody to care for her and had an infected wound. We immediately sent a driver to get her and take her to the vet where she is being treated. Our hearts aches for her and for all the others having to go through so much suffering. So many people displaced abandoning their pets, so many violence, so many homes burnt…. We can’t be everywhere, we can’t see all of them. But we always step in when we hear and when the area is accessible . We will never stop saying it: people and animals are suffering a great deal due to this insecurity and gang violence. This has lasted too long! We don’t know when this will end!

We always like to post an uplifting video following a heartbreaking one. While feeling heartbroken with the lost of Spiky, seeing Koa doing so well is uplifting. Sometimes the eye seems normal,as you can see at the end, but she can’t see. Hopefully there will be no need to remove it. We will have to discuss that with our vet. It took lots of care for the eye to get better. Regular cleaning and antibiotics ointment, the cone so she does not scratch it or hurt it and no litter box. At the beginning she would roll in the litter box and the litter would get in the eye. We just put paper towels that we change regularly. Hope you enjoy seeing Koa in action as much as we do. Don’t forget, always, share our posts as much as you can. If you can donate, donate to our cause, If you can’t, it is one way to help. Thank you 🙏❤️

What we feared has happened! Spiky lost his battle. He passed away yesterday at the vet clinic while hospitalized. His illness was so sudden and unexpected, and we are heartbroken. X Ray and all kind of blood tests were done plus hospitalization. Two people donated toward his care, Nick and Kyan. I thank you both. We will use that money to cover part of the vet bill. But we will need more. Anyone who wants to help can send us a a private message for the vet bill. Thank you all for the prayers and the positive words. We all wanted him to live so badly that we wanted a miracle. Unfortunately, it was his time to go. He was so young and full of life with amazing eyes. We know you were happy here, Spiky, where no-one could hurt you. Rest in peace “Mon Beau Garçon “ as we used to call you, we will miss you so much.

Spiky used to a free roaming life in his neighborhood. He was rescued, last year in June 2025, when he was hit with a machete. We took him to the vet where he spent a a few days. Once healed and stitches removed, we returned him to his owner who wanted him back. Less than a month later, with the consent of the owner, we took him again and this time for good since his life was threatened again. Spiky is usually full of life, a very affectionate and beautiful dog with amazing eyes. Suddenly, on Thursday afternoon he did not want to eat and was not as playful as he usually is. The morning after he did not want to stand up and had difficulty breathing. We rushed him to the vet clinic where he was hospitalized. All kind of blood test and XRay were done. The news are not good. The vet later wrote:
“The blood test this morning couldn't count the white blood cells. So, I took four blood smears during the day, and white blood cells were absent from all of them. This means the bone marrow isn't producing white blood cells. This is often due to bone marrow diseases. The absence of white blood cells means the body has no defense against disease. The prognosis is grim.” We are heartbroken and hope for a miracle

Update, Koa! It’s been exactly thirty four days since this strong, resilient, playful, funny, tiny kitten, weighing not even 1 pound, only 0.6 pounds, came into our lives. For those of you who did not see our post at that time, she was found by one of our employees, wondering in his neighborhood with a very bad eye injury. A cruel man with a ring in his finger, hit her with his hand because she was approaching his food. She lost the eye and it has to be removed but we have to wait for her to get bigger and stronger. She did gain weight and grew quite a bit. She is a bundle of joy who loves to purr. Our ray of sunshine as we say. Koa needs a sponsor. Can anyone sponsor this adorable kitten? If interested DM us.

We are a small grassroots animal rescue organization, with big dreams, driven by our passion and personal sacrifice, working with very limited resources in a very dangerous country. Supporting us means supporting a good cause. How can you support us? By becoming a monthly donor, by sponsoring one of our cats or dogs, and or by sharing our posts. Sharing our posts is very important. It gives us exposure and more people can find out about our challenging work.

A young lady, from our neighborhood, came knocking at our door asking for help for her cat. We, immediately, took her to the vet. It has not been easy. A tranquilizer had to be be given to her while she was hanging by the window. She has what you call feline mammary fibroepithelial.
The only way to help is by spaying her. Her surgery is scheduled for this Wednesday. To help with her surgery go to our link in bio. Any amount will help. Thank you very much.

Scarlett has been spayed! No more babies! We will never know how many litters she had during her time in the streets. Yesterday she and Kiki were spayed and our little Domino, the cat, was neutered. Scarlett came to us heavily pregnant in November. She had to be removed from her area cause her life was in danger. She then gave birth, two weeks later on the 21st, to 9 puppies. One did not survive. Supporting us mean more
Rescues, less suffering. Please donate and or share our posts. One way to help is by sharing our posts. Thank you all for your support!

THREE MONTHS! That’s what it took for Titite to start living again. AS A REMINDER: We used to help Titite’s owner care for her. We spayed her and regularly sent her food. In January of this year 2026 ( we made a mistake by writing 2025 on the video) he called us saying she disappeared for 3 days, found her hiding, lethargic and not eating. We immediately picked her up and hospitalized her at the vet clinic where she spent 9 days. Once she recuperated,we went to get her. When we arrived at our place and pulled her out of the pet carrier, we noticed she could not move well, one front leg was stiff, her head was tilted to the side and she was crying with a deep voice. It seemed like she had a stroke from the vet clinic to our place. We asked different international rescues and different vets, no-one ever saw a case like this. Help could not be found and nothing could be done. We were desperate and discouraged. Then a miracle started to happen. Gradually she started getting better and recovered. She still had to be quarantined until fully vaccinated. We could not take the risk since the outbreak of Panleukopenia last July. Now, 15 days after receiving her second vaccines shot, she has been put in one of our catios and her new life began.
