The Zanmi Beni Community in Port-au-Prince, Haiti is a long-term, residential home to 64 children, 31 of whom have physical or developmental disabilities.

Meet Marcus 🌟

Tall, energetic, and full of big dreams, he has his sights set on becoming a pilot one day.

When Marcus isn’t focused on school, or out on the soccer field, you’ll find him sketching or taking pride in his neat handwriting.

Marcus brings a bold, playful energy wherever he goes. Known for his sense of humor and for getting into a bit of mischief with friends on occasion, he keeps life around him anything but boring.

With his strong presence and even stronger imagination, Marcus is the kind of young person you cannot help but notice and will not forget.

For our kids, this isn’t just a place. It’s a space to grow, to breathe, and to imagine a future beyond what once felt possible. Zanmi Beni is a home.

She’s growing into a confident, eloquent young leader with a strong sense of justice.

Yveline naturally steps into the role of advocate in the campus, always speaking up for others, especially the younger children she supports like a caring older sister.

Alongside Yveline, she helps guide our kids at ZB with confidence and kindness. Once a handful as a little girl, Yveline has truly blossomed into someone thoughtful, dependable, and deeply respected by everyone around her. ✨

Introducing Marco! Now a little older, but just as full of the incredible energy and passion he had when he first arrived at ZB. ❤️

Marco brings his energy to every soccer game the kids play, lighting up the field with his skills. ⚽️

A true fan of the game, Marco watches every match he can and knows players inside and out.

Marco also has a hearty appetite, especially for his favorite staple, rice, which fuels his endless drive on and off the field. 🏟️

Dr. Paul Farmer believed every child deserved care, dignity, and a future. Because of him, so many of our kids at Zanmi Beni have the chance to grow, thrive, and simply be kids.

Say hello to Claudia! One of the happiest kids on the ZB campus.
 Claudia is one of the many children with physical and developmental disabilities who has grown and thrived with us since 2010.

Claudia is full of surprises. And while she may still face serious physical challenges, Claudia has a keen sense of time and an unshakable daily routine, especially when it comes to meals. Everyone at Zanmi Beni knows that when it’s time to eat, Claudia knows first.

Claudia is curious, social, and often on the move in her own way, snagging a favorite piece of clothing, chewing on her sleeve, or simply taking in the world with wide-eyed awareness.

Her bold spirit shines through in the smallest, most delightful ways at Zanmi Beni.

On January 12th, the Zanmi Beni community came together to honor the lives lost in the 2010 earthquake.

It was a day of remembrance, holding close the memories of those who were lost and honoring the strength and resilience that carried our kids through unimaginable hardship.

That time of reflection was followed by a celebration of Zanmi Beni’s 16th anniversary. Held side by side, these moments reflect who we are: we remember, we honor, and we move forward together.

For sixteen years, Zanmi Beni has been rooted in community, compassion, and long-term commitment.

Through hardship and hope, the work continues.
Thank you for walking alongside us, honoring the past, and helping build a future grounded in care and possibility. 💙
