☀️Summer Programs are loading and we’re excited to get ready for our Annual Surf Camp & Vacation Bible School!☀️

SURF CAMP—This is the highlight of the summer for so many and it is our 4th year partnering with local coaches to bring surfing skills and smiles all summer long. For over 45 youth in our community, we have free surf lessons, weekly hot lunches and beach cleanups each week from mid June to August. We finish off the summer with a big surfing competition! 🌊

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL–Some of our most joyful moments of the year always come from VBS! It is such a special time each summer for around 65 children in our community to play games, make crafts, enjoy snacks, and learn about God’s love together. We end the week by blessing each child with a backpack and school supplies to help them get ready for the upcoming school year! ✨

We are raising $3,000 to cover all of the costs of supplies, food, teaching materials and staff salaries needed for these ministries. If you would like to help us make this summer a success, please prayerfully consider partnering with us through our website ⬇️

Happy 222nd Haitian Independence Day!

Today, many can be found making soup joumou (pumpkin soup) in honor of Independence Day. A dish that was once reserved for the French slave owners, it is now a symbol of freedom for all & Haiti’s independence as the 1st free Black republic. As we eat it today, we reflect on Haiti’s rich history & hold hope for an even richer future 🇭🇹

Our best Christmas Eve giveaway yet! It’s our way of saying “Merry Christmas” —all the essential ingredients to sit down and enjoy a delicious meal together. From delivering tickets for the program to shopping the markets to packing each kit, we had amazing help all week long, which was so incredibly worth it to bless 149 families today! Thank you to all who made this a VERY Merry Christmas ✨

An amazing time was had by all at our Kid’s Christmas party yesterday! Music, games, and gingerbread house crafts kept us full of joy all afternoon. Our bellies were full of candy, Haitian pate & fresco slushies! We had wonderful help acting out the Christmas story and the reminder that Jesus is the light in our lives even in the darkest times. Cookie decorating with 83 kids was wild & fun, with no sprinkle left behind! The day finished with a special visit from Santa & a gift for each child to take home!

Our Christmastime ministries started today with a wonderful celebration at the prison with the female juvenile inmates. The joy in the room was so apparent as we played fun games together and took turns reading from the Bible about the birth of Christ. We were able to bless the girls with much needed hygiene products along with some other fun treats that were on their wishlists like notebooks, fresh fruit & chocolate.

This year we were also able to gift smaller hygiene kits to the rest of the 32 women in the prison, to share the love of Christ and let them know they are thought of and prayed for.

Thank you to all who gave to our End of Year Fundraiser who brought a lot of light to the women in the prison today! We are a few hundred dollars short of our final fundraising goal. As our Christmas ministries continue on over this next week, would you consider partnering with us? ✨
