☀While our solar installation has been a huge blessing and has been providing 24 hour electricity in the emergency room we still rely on the diesel generator for power which the system is not able to produce.

💵Currently we spend $8000 per month on diesel fuel for the generator - Phase II of the solar will cost $200,000 - meaning in just over two years we will be making savings every month. With the instability in Haiti there are times when fuel is just not available or the price can fluctuate.

🔆Our goal with our Solar Phase II project is to upgrade our current 32kW system to a 90kW 3-phase system which will meet all our energy needs.

♥🇭🇹 We are thankful to be part of the second Together for Haiti Match day. For each dollar donated Bethesda will get an extra .50 cents.

For this years MATCH DAY we are raising funds to move into Phase II of the solar project. Phase II will enable us to to upgrade our current 32kW system to a 90kW 3-phase system, which will save a tremendous amount of monthly fuel expense that we can use for more enhanced medical and dental care for our patients.

MATCH DAY closes on July 30 giving just three days left to give.

Recently, we were introduced to Faith in Action Initiatives, an organization that collects donated medical equipment and supplies and distributes them to nonprofit healthcare organizations around the world.

After we sent them a wish list of much-needed equipment, two of our board members had the opportunity to visit their warehouse and identify the items that would be shipped to Bethesda.

One item on our wish list was a suction machine—an essential piece of equipment used in emergency medical care. Unfortunately, they didn't have one available.

The warehouse manager assured our board members that he would keep an eye out for one.

As they were leaving, a woman arrived with a car full of donated medical equipment then the manager spotted something that made him smile from ear to ear.

"Well, there's your suction machine," he said.

We are so grateful to Faith in Action Initiatives for their generosity and partnership. Every piece of equipment they send will help our staff provide better care for the thousands of patients who come to Bethesda each year.

It was a wonderful reminder that God often provides in ways we could never have planned—and always in His perfect timing.

🇭🇹 TOGETHER FOR HAITI MATCH DAY 🇭🇹

This summer, we also have the opportunity to participate in the second annual Together for Haiti Match Day. From July 20–30, every donation made to Bethesda through this initiative will receive a 50% match, increasing the impact of every gift.

This year's Match Day will support Phase II of our Solar Project. In 2022, Phase I provided our Emergency Department with 24-hour electricity—a critical improvement that has already saved lives. However, we still rely on a diesel generator for part of each day, at a cost of approximately $8,000 USD every month.

Our goal is to expand our current 32kW solar system to a 90kW three-phase system, significantly reducing our dependence on diesel fuel. The money saved each month can then be redirected to what matters most—providing even more medical and dental care for our patients. This project is budgeted at just over $200,000, and every dollar raised brings us one step closer to energy independence.
