✨ Then & Now: Benaja’s Journey ✨

He was just a little one when he bravely underwent life‑changing surgery.
His story didn’t just transform his own future- it actually sparked the creation of For You Haiti, ensuring that other children could access the medical care they needed too.

Over the past decade, For You Haiti has provided medical care to thousands of patients.
Thank you, Benaja and his family, for inspiring a movement that continues to change lives!

♥️(… And it is so special to us that Ben is now mature enough to understand the impact of his own story!)

Today is Ketnishaëlle’s Day🙏🏾🩷

For 4 months, our medical team has been preparing for this moment-working around the clock, doing absolutely everything possible to get baby Ketnishaëlle strong enough to go through surgery.

Today is the day.

We would be so deeply grateful for your love, light, prayers, or positive wishes for her today.

Every single patient who comes through our doors is a child we love like our own. We would do anything to see her thrive and to have a healthy future. 🫶🏾

✨ Then & Now: Po’s journey! ✨

Po arrived at our clinic as a fragile baby in critical condition- too weak to even cry, his tiny body fighting harder than any child we had ever seen.
And then the battle for his life began across continents.

Swipe to see the impossible become reality.
Miracles happen. 🫶🏾♥️🙏🏾

Every night in Anse‑à‑Galets, the streets come alive with small food stalls. 🍽️

Little stands open one by one, and people wander slowly through the neighbourhood, hanging out, greeting each other, and choosing their favourites- fried plantains/bannann peze 🍌✨, spicy pikliz 🌶️, fresh juices 🥭🥤, fried fish 🐟 and so much more. 🇭🇹

✨WELCOME HOME, BENAJA✨

After an entire year of receiving chemotherapy in Port-au-Prince for leukaemia, sweet Benaja has finally been given the wonderful news by his oncologist: he was well enough to return to La Gonave and reunite with his family!

For over 365 days, Benaja has been away from home- yet he never complained. Benaja loved the other children in the ward, and he has shown remarkable courage. We love him with our whole hearts. 💯♥️🥰🫶🏾

We also want to honour his incredible teenage sister, Gemina who stayed in Port au Prince for a year. Because the children’s cancer ward had to remain sterile, she couldn’t sleep inside with him.

Instead, she laid out a sheet in the waiting room each night and slept there, so she could visit him daily and so that Benaja knew he wasn’t alone.

Due to extreme gang activity, Gemina was on the hospital compound that entire time, as we felt it was not safe for her to go out.

Every time we thanked her for the sacrifices she is making for her little brother, she said “But that’s what a family is.. and where else would I be?” 🙏🏾🥰

Our Summer Vacation Club opens this week! 🎉

This program is for students who fell behind in school during long surgery recoveries or hard seasons at home. We’re mixing tutoring with games, art, and plenty of fun, and we’re wrapping the whole thing up with a beach day.

You’ll recognize a lot of these faces from our updates over the years.

The kids are so excited, and so are we.

Stay tuned! ☀️📚

Last week our Operations Manager took Joseline and her mom to Carrefour for surgery. They made it safely, and Joseline was cleared by the anesthesiologist. Good news.

Getting there was another story. Heavy rain had turned the streets into rivers, and his bus stalled in water up to his knees. He paid someone to carry him across on foot. On the other side, gunfire blocked the road forward, so he turned back. The next vehicle broke down in Martissant. He caught a motorcycle the rest of the way and spent that night, and two more after it, waiting for it to be safe enough to travel. He finally made it home at 4:30 in the morning, three days later than planned.

When he told us the story, there was no complaint in it. Just this message: if it means a patient gets a healthy future, he’d do it again.

This is what our team does every week, often quietly, always for the kids. We’re endlessly proud to work alongside people like him. 🇭🇹💙
