His talk — "The assets are fine. The capital structures aren't." The green financing boom of 2019–22 did not fund bad ideas. It funded real infrastructure on assumptions about rates, growth and utilisation that no longer hold: a generation of assets that work perfectly and capital structures that often don't. With the dotcom crash as the map, what looks like a failure of the green transition is a repricing. The assets get financed twice. The first money believed in the direction and got the timing wrong.

The question for the room is which money it wants to be. For fifty LPs and fifty GPs, that is an allocation question — which is why it is at the dinner, not in a breakout.
