On March 18, 2026, we held our regular meeting with several guests in attendance. President Vesna Trnokop Tanta opened the meeting by welcoming participants and presenting the agenda.

The meeting started with representatives of klub Mental Health Croatia, Mirna Gott and Petar Petrić, who presented their charity event, Ljubav na prvi pogled, a theatre performance, and invited members to participate.

The President then welcomed Zeljan Rakela, who presented the initiative “Bradata vožnja Extreme & Global Grant: Unite for Good.” He briefly introduced himself and outlined the project, which involves a 120,000 km motorcycle journey over the course of one year. The funds raised will be used to purchase the first MRI device in the public healthcare system, primarily intended for oncology patients. Members listened with great interest, after which Boris Blažević from Rotary Club Zagreb Candor explained how individuals can participate in the Global Grant project.

The meeting concluded with a short introduction by Michael Rauscher from Rotary Club Vöcklabruck-Attersee, who was visiting our club.

INVESTMENT PRIORITIES OF EUROPE AND CROATIA: NEW BUDGET AND GROWTH POTENTIALS 🌍

Member of the European Parliament Karlo Ressler delivered a lecture on March 6, 2026, organized by RC Zagreb International in cooperation with RC Zagreb. During the lecture, he presented his work in the European Parliament, with particular emphasis on the Multiannual Financial Framework for the period 2028–2034.

In his role as rapporteur of the European Parliament, Ressler is leading political negotiations with other political groups and EU member states. The goal is to shape the final text of the rules that will guide European investments in the long term and define the relationships between the European Commission, the European Parliament, and the member states.

The discussion focused on a mega fund worth €865 billion. The plan foresees a combination of different budgetary instruments—from grants and guarantee schemes to venture capital funds. Financial instruments that encourage the involvement of the private sector will also be used. The objective is to reduce the cost of capital for investments that increase productivity, promote exports, and create new jobs.

In his presentation, the MEP emphasized that the proposed budget will need to balance a wide range of priorities—from defense and security to innovation, competitiveness, and social policy. Implementation would take place through a single national plan in each member state.

We would like to thank Karlo Ressler for his lecture, as well as all our members and the members of other clubs who supported the event, attended the lecture, and contributed to an engaging discussion! 💙

Ressler, u ulozi izvjestitelja Europskog parlamenta, vodi političke pregovore s drugim političkim skupinama i državama članicama.

At our regular weekly meeting on January 28th, 2026, we had the privilege of hosting Karlo Beljan, PhD, Associate Professor at the University of Zagreb and founder of the independent advisory practice CCK - Carbon Consultation with Karlo.

The lecture Climate Change Economics provided us with a fascinating insight into the world of carbon emissions trading - a topic becoming increasingly relevant for businesses across Europe and globally.

Prof. Beljan guided us through the complex architecture of global carbon markets:
- EU ETS - the European Emissions Trading System as one of the most developed in the world
- PACM (Paris Agreement Crediting Mechanism) - enabling CO₂ surplus trading between nations
* ITMO - bilateral agreements for transferring emission reduction outcomes

We thank him for an inspiring lecture that reminded us that climate change is not merely an environmental issue, but a fundamental economic challenge of our time 💙🍀

On Tuesday, January 14, 2026, we had the privilege of hosting professor Anita Pavković, PhD from the Faculty of Economics and Business Zagreb who delivered an exceptionally insightful lecture on - ".

From the transformation of the financial services industry over the decades, through the role of AI and digitalization in banking, to the complexities of the EU regulatory framework - we explored topics shaping not only the industry but also our everyday financial decisions.

Key takeaways that resonated with our members: the critical importance of financial literacy, the pressing need for simplification of an overloaded regulatory system, and the concept of "Financial Vortex" - the competing priorities households face when preparing for their financial future.

As Professor Pavković concluded: "Be careful and prudent in all your financial decisions - crises are always faster and stronger than we expect."

Our sincere thanks to Prof. Pavković for the inspiring presentation 💙

On November 29, 2025, Rotary District 1911 celebrated its 100th anniversary with around 500 guests from all over the world. The jubilee marked a century of Rotary service in Hungary and honored distinguished and long-serving Rotarians who have shaped Hungarian Rotary life. The celebration included greetings from the Rotary International President Francesco Arezzo as well as a special address by the Japanese Ambassador, who emphasized the importance of friendship as a foundation for peace and mutual understanding. The program offered a colorful presentation of Rotary values alongside Hungarian culture and way of life. Hungarian Rotarians made a special effort to welcome international guests through a rich cultural program, ensuring that everyone felt truly welcome and appreciated. Our member Andreas Wuersching participated in this event. Thank you, Andreas!

On December 17, 2025, we held our annual assembly, during which we discussed our results for the current Rotary year and our plans for 2026. We are very pleased to report that we successfully raised funds for our Opportunity2You project at the concert we organized on December 11, 2025, at the Greek Catholic Co-Cathedral of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Zagreb.

The assembly also provided an opportunity to elect Damir Delišimunović as President-Elect and Filip Krapić as President-Nominee. Congratulations to both of them!

We are confident that our club will continue to work on its projects with the same enthusiasm and dedication. Thank you all for your participation and for the outstanding results we have achieved so far! 💙

In order to support our project , we wanted to create something new, different, and inspiring to celebrate this festive time of year. We aimed to organize an event filled with , empathy, and warmth, and we succeeded!

It was an evening of assistance and service through friendship and fellowship. By supporting children without adequate parental care, we also experienced the joy of connecting with Rotarians and the community we are building together.

Together with the Zagreb Greek Catholic Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius, the string quartet composed of:

Đana Kahriman and Ivo Jukić – violins
Jasna Simonović Mrčela – viola
Smiljan Mrčela – cello
and soprano Nela Katalenić Klinar,

we enjoyed a wonderful Thursday evening, sharing the joy of giving back to our community.

A heartfelt thank you to all contributors who decided to buy a ticket and support the project. Through your generosity, we not only provide financial assistance to children without adequate parental care, we also accompany them through their youth, advise them, and help them find employment and housing so they can become responsible, confident members of our society.

Thank you all! 💙😍

On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, our , Tomislav Paškvalin, visited our club together with the governor’s , Maja Kartuš. In a very pleasant and friendly atmosphere, our table master Ana Alfirevic opened the meeting with a story about Paul Harris, after which our Vesna Trnokop delivered a presentation about our club, its projects, activities, and several fun facts.

The presentation highlighted from the club’s establishment on October 31, 2017, through all eight years of growth up to today. A particularly remarkable moment was the presence of seven out of our eight presidents, a testament to our club’s and continuity.

Following the presentation, the governor shared insights from the first five months of his term, reflecting on his experiences and outlining his plans for the future. He also informed us about various grant opportunities now available to us, opening many new possibilities for our club.

We were especially pleased to meet the governor’s assistant, who is a true Rotarian and warmly offered her support for anything we may need. We are sincerely grateful for that.

After the official part of the meeting, the evening continued with pleasant conversation and the exchange of knowledge, experiences, expertise, and ideas. It was a wonderful and inspiring Rotarian evening. Thank you all! 💙
