🇱🇹 Working with the Lithuanian Ministry of Education, Science and Sport to improve equity, inclusion and the social dimension of higher education in Lithuania.
🎯 The objective of the INSPIRE Country Review is to explore how Lithuania can further strengthen equity, inclusion and the social dimension across access, participation and completion in higher education.
📌 The Country Review provides constructive, evidence-informed expert feedback to support Lithuania in further developing its policies and practices for the social dimension of higher education.
🌍 From 21–25 September, the INSPIRE Country Review team conducted a five-day visit to Vilnius and Kaunas. Lithuania is one of three countries participating in the INSPIRE Country Reviews in 2026, alongside Austria and Portugal.
🤝 Over the course of the visit, we met with representatives of the Ministry, higher education institutions, student unions, quality assurance bodies, and other national organisations working on the social dimension of higher education.
💬 We discussed regional and socio-economic inequalities, student financial support, accessibility and wellbeing, alternative pathways into higher education, student success and retention, and the use of data to inform policy and institutional practice.
📝 Our next step is to bring these different perspectives together in the Lithuania Country Review report.
🙏 A big thank you to the Lithuanian Ministry of Education, Science and Sport and to everyone who shared their experiences, evidence and perspectives with us during an exceptionally rich week of discussions.
