Matthias will explore practical approaches to making Android apps accessible and how this work naturally improves your development practices. With the European Accessibility Act (EAA) now in effect, understanding these principles isn't just good practice—it's becoming essential for many Android applications and the businesses behind them.

Matthias is a true believer in (Kotlin) Multiplatform and has been working with it since 2019, building innovative solutions for Android. As an active community organizer, he leads KUG Berlin, GDG Android Berlin, XTC Berlin and more.

🎤 DevFest Zagreb 2025 Speaker Announcement! 🎤

We are thrilled to introduce Dražen Lučanin, Head of IT Systems and Technical Services at the City of Zagreb, as a featured speaker at DevFest 2025 on October 24th with a talk titled “Open data and open APIs for efficient city management”!

Dražen Lučanin is a technologist with a decade of experience in software development and entrepreneurship. After years of running his own IT company and working with startups, he transitioned into the public sector, where he now leads the City of Zagreb’s digital transformation efforts.

In his talk, Dražen will explore how open data and open APIs can improve city management, showcasing initiatives like the City’s Open Data Portal, real-time traffic regulation app, Waze and Google Maps integrations, and the evolution of public transport data through the ZET info v2 case study.

We'll explore its three core components working in synergy:

🔧 THEA (Tooling & Heuristics for Efficient AI-Development): A codified guidance system of principles and best practices for collaborating with AI.

💻 The ContextVibes CLI: A practical tool that analyzes your project and generates a rich contextvibes.md file, giving AI deep insight into your work.

Big news for 2025! This year, we're giving the stage to the community with our brand new "Pitch Your Project" session. We're thrilled to offer a platform for developers, creators, and innovators to showcase their work live at the event.

And who will be listening from the front row? We are incredibly proud to announce that Boris Debić will be overseeing the pitches. Boris isn’t just a tech expert; he was a key figure at Google for 15 years, working on everything from release engineering and AI infrastructure to global privacy. He has mentored successful startups, lectures on AI, and even worked on projects with NASA Ames. His insights are invaluable, and he’ll be there to hear what you have to say.
