Rhodesian Ridgeback Club Show
🔜16–17 May 2026
We are pleased to welcome Nada Nikolic as the judge at our club show.
A long-time breeder, exhibitor, and international judge, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep passion for the Rhodesian Ridgeback, which is reflected in both her successful kennel and her extensive judging career.
Through the following biography, we invite you to become better acquainted with her work and achievements.
❋❋❋
My lifelong journey in cynology began long before I owned my first Rhodesian Ridgeback. Growing up surrounded by Yorkshire Terriers and a Dachshund, I developed an early fascination with canine behavior, structure, and companionship. Though my passion was rooted in childhood, I chose to wait until the time was right, living in the heart of Copenhagen, I understood the responsibility of dog ownership and wanted to offer the best possible life to any dog in my care.
That opportunity came in 1996, when I welcomed my first show-quality Rhodesian Ridgeback, a female named Anzika. Alongside her came her litter sister, Ahsante, who became a beloved family companion. At this time, I had already lived with a ridgeback male for a few years through a relationship. But this marked not only the beginning of my personal bond with the breed but also the launch of my formal engagement with the world of dog shows. The transition from enthusiast to exhibitor opened a new dimension in my cynological journey, one rich in learning, friendship, and shared purpose.
Driven by a deepening interest in canine genetics, health, and breed preservation, I undertook formal breeding education through the Danish Kennel Club. In 1998, I established my kennel under the name KINYEMI – a Swahili word meaning "something good and pleasant." The following year, my first litter was born, and from it emerged A’Fora, a foundation bitch who, along with her brother “Buksie,” dominated our club shows as Best of Breed and Best of Opposite S*x for five consecutive years. Today, their lineage lives on through her great-great-granddaughter Makalu and her daughter Nihma, as well as a Whippet male from Lithuania – an intentional outcross to deepen my understanding of diverse breed structures and temperaments.
With 20 carefully planned litters under the KINYEMI prefix, I have remained committed to preserving breed integrity through health, type, and temperament. My breeding program draws on global bloodlines, incorporating sires and imported bi***es from the USA, Australia, Austria, The Netherlands, Scotland, Norway, The Czech Republic, Israel, Sweden, Russia and Ukraine. Each decision is grounded in principles of sound cynology –balancing genetic diversity with breed-specific excellence.
Beyond the whelping box and show ring, I have served the Rhodesian Ridgeback community since 1997 through the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of Denmark, holding various positions and currently serving as chairman. I am also certified by the Danish Kennel Club to microchip puppies of all breeds, reflecting my broader commitment to canine welfare and identification standards.
In 2016, I expanded my cynological work further by becoming a licensed judge. This role has taken me across Denmark – including the prestigious Copenhagen Winner show – as well as to Sweden, Finland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Israel, and the Rhodesian Ridgeback Specialty in Brisbane, Australia. My judging portfolio now includes Dalmatians and Bavarian Mountain Scenthounds, with continued studies in canine anatomy, movement, and breed-specific functionality guiding my assessments.
Cynology is not merely a passion for me – it is a lifelong vocation. Every litter, show, and judging assignment deepens my understanding of the canine species and strengthens my resolve to promote ethical breeding, sound structure, and true breed character.
I am very much looking forward to be judging in your beautiful country for the first time, and to seeing some exceptional Rhodesian Ridgebacks that embody the spirit and substance of this magnificent breed.
