From 24th to 30th June, representatives of Udruga Better Me participated in the training course "MIND (Mindfulness, Inclusion, Non-judgement, Diversity)" in a beautiful Czech town Vranov nad Dyjí. The aim of the training was to equip youth workers with competences to better support young people with their mental health.
Today, we're bringing you a testimony of Sofiya Opalchuk Sofiya for whom the training brought not only new learnings but also an unexpected meeting!
"The time during the project was beautiful!
I learned a few new things about mindfulness, updated my knowledge of psychology, and what was the most important I had meaningful conversations with other participants. All people on the project had an interest in the topic and had different points of view. For me it was very important to exchange those thoughts because in the end my own perspective became wider and deeper at the same time.
It was a pleasure to stay far away from big cities and on the warmest day in Europe we were just fine because nature saved us and after sundown brought immediately a bit of fresh air and cooler temperature.
I really enjoyed the whole program and the energy during the project. I feel that we all did a great job and gave our best to the learning process, relationships between all of us, and still a good time full of very delicious food and pool.
The biggest surprise was to meet my old music festival friend :) We had a great time together 10 years ago and now we met in another country in totally different circumstances.
It reminds me that the world is a very tiny place and it's important to stay a good person because you never know who you will meet once again!"
The training course was a part of a KA2 strategic partnership funded by the Erasmus+ programme. The project is coordinated by the European Youth Centre Břeclav from Czechia European Youth Centre Břeclav and the partner organisations are NaturKultur from Germany NaturKultur e.V, Udruga Better Me from Croatia, and Youth of Europe Association from Hungary Európa Ifjúsága Egyesület_Youth of Europe Association.
