Coalition for Work with Psychotrauma and Peace - CWWPP

The CWWPP works at the level of the individual, the family, the group, the community and the society. We believe in long-term integrated programs that include good assessment and evaluation. We see research as an important component of our work. We work with all ethnic and religious groups within the society.

The International Union of Psychological Science (IUPsyS) shares the global community’s deep concern about the devastating human consequences of war in our world today. More than eighty years ago, in the aftermath of World War II, a group of prominent psychologists issued the Psychologists’ Manifesto (1945), affirming psychology’s responsibility to apply scientific knowledge of human behaviour, cooperation, and conflict to prevent future wars and advance human welfare. Today, that responsibility remains urgent. Around the world, ongoing conflicts continue to produce immense human suffering and deep disruption of societies. → Security is increasingly framed in military terms, where higher military spending, more weapons, and more people taking up arms are presented as solutions to today’s crises. Yet many people refuse to be part of this militarised logic and choose to say “no” to the cycle of violence.

📜 In our publication, you will discover eight powerful personal stories from Belgium, Greece, Eritrea, Türkiye, Israel, Finland, Russia, and Spain.

🗨️ At our launch, you will hear about the journey behind creating this publication and listen to stories from conscientious objectors themselves.

In Uvira, Eastern Congo, women, children, and youth who have survived armed conflict wake up in displacement camps with nothing. No job. No training. No pathway back to the life that was taken from them.

CSC-Asbl decided that was unacceptable.

This organization in South Kivu has been showing up for these communities since 2016, delivering entrepreneurship training, sustainable agriculture, education for displaced children, and youth sports programs that are giving girls a safe place to belong.

In 2024, on a total budget of $19,000, they reached 3,724 lives.
That kind of commitment deserves to be seen.

HUMANDREAM Foundation is proud to partner with CSC-Asbl, connecting their extraordinary grassroots work to the resources and visibility it deserves.

If this moves you, share it. Every share puts this work in front of someone who might be able to help.
