New week, and HrOUG is almost here. Before we meet on the island, we have some news to share.

On 20 November 2026, Zagreb gets a new one-day conference: Oracle AI Express.

It takes place at Z Centar, powered by the EMEA Community Tour and organised by HROUG. Two stages run through the day. On one, Oracle ACEs explain what the latest Oracle announcements mean in practice. On the other, business leaders share AI success stories and best practices from real projects.
The programme is built around Artificial Intelligence, Best Practices & Success Stories, Database & Infrastructure, and Strategy & Innovation. Expect agentic AI that has to survive real transactions, semantic search in APEX explained without the math, and a no-code agent platform that runs on your own hardware. A good part of it applies to anyone building with AI, whether they work with Oracle or not.

More speakers will be announced soon, so keep an eye on this page.

Tickets are already available:
• HROUG members get a 20% discount
• HROUG members who have not used their free membership ticket for HrOUG can use 2 free tickets for AI Express
• Participants of HrOUG and JavaCro get 50% off
• Student tickets cost 40 EUR + VAT, so students can see the Oracle world first-hand

See you this week on the island, and again in Zagreb in November.

Meet Kamil Stawiarski, known across the Oracle community as ORA-600, the Database Whisperer.

He's bringing four talks to HROUG this year, all circling the same question: how do you actually make a system fast, and how much of that can AI really do for you?

🔹 Real stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time — why LLMs are only as good as the context you give them
🔹 Stop being DBA. Stop being DEV. Performance tuning is math! — regression models instead of guesswork
🔹 Reducing empty calories in DBTime — catching database fragmentation before it hurts performance
🔹 Integrating AI into Performance Tuning Tools — a look inside APPM and JAS-MIN from the tool authors themselves

Oracle Certified Master, Oracle ACE Director, OakTable member, founder of the Pint with Oracle User Group. Expect stories, not slideware.

Maistra Hospitality Group is our hospitality partner for HrOUG, with accommodation on our Island, just a short boat ride across from Rovinj. It's the setup that keeps the community together after the sessions end — the conversations that continue over dinner are often where the real value happens.

Thank you, Maistra, for being part of the HrOUG story.

AI is showing up everywhere in the Oracle world right now, not just as a buzzword, but built into the database, into analytics, into spatial data, even into how modern conflicts are fought.

This year's AI track at HROUG brings speakers covering exactly that range, from AI agents running inside Oracle Autonomous Database to a private, on-premises agent platform, to a session on AI in modern warfare.

Most enterprise AI agent demos are built on clean sample data. Not on the systems you actually run your business on.

At HROUG 2026, Edelweiss Kammermann will show what happens when you point an AI agent at real Oracle E-Business Suite data. Using Oracle AI Database Private Agent Factory, a no-code/low-code platform for building and deploying custom agents, she'll walk through live demos of agents that answer natural language questions on EBS KPIs, automate tasks and surface real-time insights directly from enterprise data.

She's also presenting a second session at HROUG this year, on how Oracle AI Data Platform Workbench builds the trusted, governed data foundation these agents depend on. Together, the two sessions cover both ends of the problem: the data layer and the agent layer.

Edelweiss is Associate VP of AI & ML at IT Convergence and an Oracle ACE Director, with over 25 years in consulting, project management and building Analytics and Machine Learning teams for US and UK companies. She speaks regularly at technical conferences across the US, Europe and Latin America.

Catch both sessions at HROUG 2026 in Rovinj.
