Esso Pacific was a ULCC tanker built in 1977 by Hitachi at Ariake, Japan, with yard number 4485. Her keel was laid on 20 August 1976, she was launched on 13 June 1977 and completed on 1 November 1977. She was originally registered under the Liberian flag and owned by Esso Tankers Inc.
The vessel had a tonnage of 234,626, deadweight of 508,628 tons, an overall length of 406 metres, length between perpendiculars of 390 metres, beam of 71 metres, depth of 31.22 metres and draft of 25.29 metres. Her machinery was listed as 1ST-15.5 with an output of 33,570 kW.
In 1984, Esso Pacific came under Esso Eastern Marine Ltd. In 1990 she was renamed Kapetan Michalis under Panshine Inc. Her service ended in 2002, and she was scrapped at Gadani Beach on 25 October 2002.
