🏆Join the regional competition in Šibenik for the opportunity to receive expert business support, advance to the European final in Málaga and compete for the €5,000 WAVEMAKER Growth Award.

EIT Water’s WAVEMAKER pilot is designed to identify and support high-potential startups, spinouts, SMEs, and venture teams across the water, marine and maritime sectors through eight regional business creation competitions across Europe.

As part of EIT Water’s Business Creation Mechanism, the WAVEMAKER Awards help accelerate early-stage ventures from idea to market.

The Šibenik regional competition is open to ventures active in marine monitoring, smart maritime operations, coastal and water resilience, marine robotics, environmental intelligence, the circular blue economy and other water, marine and maritime fields.

✅️ Participants will receive pitch training and take part in sessions with relevant experts to refine their business models, strengthen their value propositions, validate market opportunities, improve their investment readiness and prepare their innovations for commercialisation and growth.

🎯 The winner of the Šibenik event will secure a place in the final competition at the EIT Water Launch Event in Málaga on 15 October 2026, where they will compete for the overall WAVEMAKER title and the €5,000 growth award.

We are incredibly proud to have supported this exceptional team and to have been part of their journey. As proud sponsors of the project, it is truly rewarding to see students we have supported and collaborated with achieve success at the highest international level.

Congratulations to the students of the University of Rijeka's Faculty of Engineering, together with colleagues from the Faculty of Maritime Studies, the Academy of Applied Arts, and students from the Salesian Classical Gymnasium and Technical School, for becoming World Champions in the AI category at the prestigious Monaco Energy Boat Challenge.

Competing as Adria Autonomous Boat, the team secured first place in all four AI disciplines, AI Docking, AI Fleet, AI Figure 8, and AI Slalom, earning a perfect score of 1,800 points. They also achieved an impressive fourth-place finish in the Energy category as Adria Racing, competing against 21 international teams.

This achievement demonstrates the power of interdisciplinary collaboration and highlights how innovation in artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and sustainable maritime technologies can compete with the very best on the world stage.

Congratulations to the entire team, their mentors, and the University of Rijeka on this outstanding success. Your dedication, creativity, and passion for innovation are an inspiration for the next generation of engineers, innovators, and AI leaders.

DIH Innovamare has been selected to deliver both flagship initiatives of the new EIT Water innovation community: the WAVEMAKER AWARDS and the HACKATHON EVENTS.

As part of EIT Water’s mission to protect water, marine, and maritime ecosystems through innovation, these two programs will empower entrepreneurs, students, researchers, and innovators to develop impactful solutions for real-world water challenges.

🌊 WAVEMAKER AWARDS will support early-stage startups on their journey from idea to market through a series of regional business creation events.

💡 HACKATHON EVENTS will bring together multidisciplinary teams to co-create innovative Proofs of Concept that address pressing water-related challenges.

We are honoured to contribute to this exciting European initiative and to help strengthen the water innovation ecosystem.

A good consortium is worth gold… or in our case - a Blue Fund. 🌊

Three inspiring days in Skopje at the Innovablue PoC Workshop, 1st Hackathon & Blue Adrion Fund Ideation Workshop showed what can happen when innovation meets collaboration.

Together, we achieved:
✅️ 50+ stakeholders from academia, industry, startups, public institutions, and innovation ecosystems,
✅️ partners from 7 countries working side by side,
✅️ 8 multidisciplinary teams developing innovative prototypes during the hackathon,
✅️ 3 Proof of Concept (PoC) solutions further advanced,
✅️ 2 business model concepts for the future Blue Adrion Fund co-created through collaborative ideation.

In just three days, we exchanged knowledge, challenged ideas, built prototypes, and laid the foundations for future investment and cooperation in the blue economy.

💙 Because blue is not only the sea - it's the entire water cycle. And just like water connects ecosystems, one consortium can connect knowledge, innovation, and people across borders.

• sudjelovati u terenskom radu, testiranjima i implementaciji

🎯 Što očekujemo?
• dobro poznavanje 3D modeliranja, posebno u alatima kao što su SolidWorks, Fusion 360 ili slični alati
• osnovno znanje elektronike i elektrotehnike
• razumijevanje rada s mikrokontrolerima, senzorima, napajanjima, kabliranjem i osnovnim elektroničkim sklopovima
• preciznost, odgovornost i samostalnost u radu
• praktičan način razmišljanja i sposobnost rješavanja tehničkih problema
• spremnost na učenje i usvajanje novih tehnologija
• poznavanje engleskog jezika
• timski duh i dobra komunikacija

✅️ Prednost imaju kandidati koji imaju iskustvo ili interes za:
• 3D printanje
• izradu FPV dronova, modela brodova ili drugih custom-build projekata
• robotiku i autonomne sustave
• prototipiranje i testiranje tehničkih rješenja
• rad s kamerama, senzorima, računalnim vidom ili IoT sustavima
• rad u radionici, proizvodnji, laboratoriju ili razvojnom timu
