🌊The BEST4.0 Final Cross-Border Dissemination Event in Šibenik brought together project partners, SMEs, researchers, innovation actors and representatives of coastal communities to reflect on the results of BEST4.0 and, more importantly, to discuss what comes next for the Blue Economy.

Alongside the presentation of BEST4.0 results, SME support activities and the future role of the I4.0 Services Catalogue and Cross-Border DIH Network, the programme also connected the project with wider Blue Economy research and innovation initiatives. 💡

🤝 Ivana Bujas Rupić presented SeaTecHub-EU, the Croatia–Cyprus Excellence Hub for Healthy and Productive Seas, highlighting the importance of stronger links between research, technology, business, public authorities and users. SeaTecHub works across areas such as aquaculture and fisheries, smart ports, maritime safety, research and education, and maritime technologies, with practical examples including smart buoys, Marine IoT and environmental monitoring. We were also pleased to welcome Nadir Kapetanović from Centre of Excellence MARBLE, who introduced their work in maritime robotics, autonomous systems, smart buoys, sensor networks, digital twins, simulation and testing, together with MARBLE’s research and pilot infrastructure in Zagreb, Šibenik and Rijeka. 🌍

One of the highlights of the event was the panel discussion “From Projects to Lasting Impact: What Does the Future Blue Economy Need?”, which opened a broader conversation on business needs, skills and knowledge transfer, coastal development, sustainability, digitalisation and the green transition.

👏 A big thank you to all our panelists, Marko Grubelić, Matija Bumbak, Nadir Kapetanović, Giulia Righetti for sharing their perspectives, experiences and ideas on the future of the Blue Economy — from SME needs and innovation to skills, coastal development and sustainability.

U sklopu projekta SeaTechHub, DIH Agrifood Croatia i predstavnici naših tvrtki i institucija uspješno su predstavili eko-inovativna tehnološka rješenja za održivu plavu ekonomiju.

🌊Podršku izaslanstvu pružio je i veleposlanik RH, nj. e. Aleksandar Sunko, istaknuvši važnost jačanja mediteranskih veza.

Zajedno gradimo održivu budućnost naših mora!

Sveučilište u Trstu otvara za upis profil robotika u plavom gospodarstvu u sklopu diplomskog studija elektrotehnike i sistemskog inženjerstva Sveučilišta u Trstu. Program izvodi pet sveučilišta iz jadransko-jonske regije. Nakon uspješnog završetka studenti stječu diplomu „Laurea Magistrale in Ingegneria dell’Energia Elettrica e dei Sistemi“.
Program je usmjeren na obrazovanje u robotici, s posebnim naglaskom na znanje i primjenu vezanu uz plavo gospodarstvo. Više informacija dostupno je na https://ieuts.mastermarble.eu/.

🌱 As the RISE project comes to a close, we are proud to look back on collaboration, learning and shared commitment to supporting SMEs in the food and beverage sector on their path toward digital and green transformation.

🤝 Together with partners from across the Danube Region, we worked on developing practical tools, mentoring approaches and knowledge-sharing activities focused on digitalisation, energy efficiency and circular economy.

RISE contributed to meaningful progress in:
✅ Supporting SMEs in their digital and green transition
✅ Developing practical tools for digitalisation, energy efficiency and circular economy
✅ Building the B2GreenHub platform for knowledge exchange and networking
✅ Strengthening mentoring support through the RISE Mentors Academy
✅ Testing mentoring activities with food sector SMEs
✅ Preparing regional action plans and sharing good practices for future use

A big thank you to all partners, mentors, SMEs and stakeholders who contributed to the project’s success.

💬 This week, we participated in the 4th ADRURAL Project Meeting in Nikšić, Montenegro, hosted by Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center Tehnopolis.

Partners focused on pilot activities, rural innovation initiatives, and future project steps across participating countries.

We also discussed upcoming activities and the further development of the Online Rural Empowerment Hub. 🤝🌱

Day 2 of the RISE Regional Meeting in Austria was all about going beyond discussions and seeing innovation in practice 👀

Through a series of study visits across the region, we had the chance to explore how different organizations are applying sustainable and circular solutions in their daily work.
From innovative production processes to forward-thinking business models, the visits offered a closer look at how ideas are turned into real impact. 🌱♻️

Experiencing these examples firsthand gave us fresh inspiration and a deeper understanding of how such approaches can be adapted and implemented in our own context 🚀

Last week we participated in Day 1 of the project RISE Regional Meeting in Austria.
During the meeting, we presented our work and progress within the project so far, with a strong focus on the development of our Regional Action Plan 📊 We highlighted key activities, shared our approach, and discussed next steps 🔜
The exchange with partners provided valuable feedback and new perspectives 💡 to further strengthen our work 🤝

On April 22nd 2026, we took part in the “Blue Careers Day” event in Zadar – a dynamic gathering focused on networking, career opportunities and connecting young people with the blue economy sector. 🌊

At our booth, we presented the projects we are actively working on and engaged with visitors, especially students and high school pupils, sharing insights into real opportunities for learning, collaboration, and future careers.
