📣Last week the SMITour project took the stage at the II Euroregional Congress of Industrial Museography (CEMUSI), held in Alcoi 🇪🇸
one of the most important international gatherings on management and interpretation.
🔝Our Catalan project partner XATIC - Xarxa de Turisme Industrial de Catalunya had the opportunity to share the work developed within SMITour, showcasing an approach built on technology, community participation and sustainability to enhance the value of 🇪🇺🏭European industrial heritage.
✅ The congress was a valuable occasion to exchange experiences with professionals and institutions active in the fields of industrial heritage, museography and cultural innovation.

We are now in the middle of the last month of the SMITour project activities.

🏭 Our goal has always been to shed new light on Mediterranean Industrial Tourism, turning heritage and 📲 tech innovation into a shared narrative for the future.

📣💡Did you know Catalonia's incredible Industrial Heritage is now featured in a brand-new tourist catalogue?

Thanks to strong collaboration between the Generalitat de Catalunya and local institutions and associations, the catalogue project incorporated also knowledge from the XATIC - Xarxa de Turisme Industrial de Catalunya, SMITOUR project partner from Catalonia and it is able to introduce 🏭 Industrial historical sites as fascinating cultural destinations, promoting a more conscious and sustainable way to travel.

In Catalonia It Has Been Released A Comprehensive Industrial Tourism Catalogue, Highlighting Cultural Heritage and European Collaboration.

Lo scorso 11 novembre, la Facoltà di Economia dell'Università di Rijeka (Fiume) in Croazia ha ospitato la Conferenza Finale di SMITour Project, progetto europeo per lo studio del turismo industriale, finanziato dal Programma Interreg Euro-MED Programme.

L'evento, organizzato dal partner croato in collaborazione con il Comune di Prato - capofila dell'iniziativa - ha riunito esperti e stakeholders del settore per riflettere sullo stato dell'arte e sul futuro del turismo industriale e presentare i principali risultati ottenuti nel biennio di attività del progetto, principalmente focalizzati sull'area del Mediterraneo di cui fanno parte i sei Paesi che compongono la partnership: Portogallo, Catalonia, Grecia, Slovenia, Croazia e Italia con il Museo del Tessuto.

Un confronto di idee e prospettive culminato con un interessante panel di approfondimento cui hanno preso parte - oltre ai rappresentanti delle istituzioni del consorzio SMITour - esponenti di Enti e associazioni locali e di , iniziativa Interreg Euro-MED orientata al dialogo istituzionale per la governance del turismo sostenibile nell'area euro-mediterranea.

La conferenza è stata inoltre occasione per una prima presentazione della strategia condivisa e l'Action Plan SMITour - documenti strategici che definiscono le linee guida per la futura applicazione e diffusione delle pratiche implementate; strumenti operativi efficaci destinati ad amministrazioni pubbliche e professionisti del settore.
