The National Food and Drink Day was held on July 21st at the student dormitory. Incoming students, several outgoing students, and members of the SCOPE and SCORE committees brought food and drinks that are typical of their countries. We tasted food from Denmark, Estonia, Spain and Croatia while socializing and chatting together.

The trip to Vukovar and Ilok took place on July 18th and was led by one of the outgoing students. The students learned about the history of Vukovar and visited the Vukovar Water Tower and the Vučedol Culture Museum.
Afterwards, they visited the walls of Ilok and the Museum of the City of Ilok. They then headed to Principovac Castle, where they enjoyed the architecture and beauty of the castle.
After the visit, they had lunch at the Old Cellar, followed by a wine tasting at the same location, which marked the end of the trip.

At the end of July, we held our final trip for incoming students, taking them to explore Papuk Nature Park and Orahovica. Jankovac Forest Park, located right in the heart of Papuk, delighted us with its breathtaking natural beauty and tranquil, refreshing mountain atmosphere. After having lunch in Orahovica, we cooled off and had a fantastic time at Orahovica Lake.

The suturing workshop was conducted by Dr. Ana Prica and sponsored by ODORRA . The participants included incoming students and one contact person. During the workshop, Dr. Prica introduced the participants to different suturing techniques and demonstrated how to perform them properly on a pig’s foot. The students had the opportunity to practice the techniques themselves and improve their practical skills. The workshop was very informative and hands-on, allowing the participants to gain valuable experience in surgical suturing in a relaxed and supportive environment.

In July, four of our exchange students went on a day trip to Našice and Đakovo. In Našice, they visited the beautiful Pejačević Castle and learned about its history. Afterwards, they continued their trip to Đakovo, where they visited the impressive St. Peter’s Cathedral and the famous state stud farm. They also visited Eponina farm, where they had the opportunity to spend some time in nature and see alpacas and other animals. The whole day trip was a great opportunity for exchange students to explore the local culture, history and traditions while enjoyin a fun day together.

The first trip to Baranja took place on July 5. We started the excursion with a boat ride through Kopački Rit Nature Park, where we enjoyed its beautiful landscapes and wildlife. Afterwards, we visited Tikveš Castle and learned about the rich history of the area. Following the tour, we relaxed over lunch and a wine tasting at Josić Restaurant. Later, the students sampled local beers at Karanac Brewery. We ended the day by relaxing and enjoying the swimming pools in Beli Manastir.

During the Upon Arrival Training, the SCOPE and SCORE committees welcomed the incoming students. Through a short presentation, we introduced them to the city of Osijek, recommended local restaurants and cafés, and highlighted various landmarks and attractions they should visit during their stay.

The Welcome Party was held at a café on Copacabana. Incoming students, several outgoing students, and members of the SCOPE and SCORE committees had the opportunity to meet and get to know each other. We spent time walking around Copacabana, enjoyed drinks at the café, and socialized before taking a walk through Tvrđa together.

U sklopu projekta "Čuj, srce ti priča", 27.6. održana je još jedna javnozdravstvena akcija u kojoj su Osječani imali priliku besplatno provjeriti svoje zdravstveno stanje.
Građanima su mjereni krvni tlak, razina šećera i zasićenost krvi kisikom, a bio je dostupan i EKG te analiza sastava tijela metaboličkom vagom. Ovo je ujedno bilo i posljednje mjerenje prije ljetne pauze — ponovno se vidimo u 9. mjesecu!

20. lipnja održali smo predavanje „Algoritam ili ja? Utjecaj društvenih mreža na mentalno zdravlje” u organizaciji Savjeta mladih Grada Belišća.

Kroz razgovor o algoritmima, pažnji, društvenim mrežama i mentalnom zdravlju otvorili smo važna pitanja o tome kako digitalni sadržaji oblikuju naše svakodnevne navike, donošenje odluka i odnos prema sebi i drugima.

Poseban naglasak stavili smo na razvoj kritičkog promišljanja, razumijevanje psiholoških i neurobioloških mehanizama koji stoje iza društvenih mreža te važnost samoregulacije u digitalnom okruženju.

Prošle je subote, povodom Svjetskog dana hipertenzije i Hrvatskog dana šećerne bolesti, naš SCOPH u sklopu projekta "Čuj, srce ti priča" održao još jednu javnozdravstvenu akciju. Posjetitelji su imali priliku besplatno sudjelovati u nizu preventivnih zdravstvenih pregleda, a ujedno i u nagradnom darivanju.
