This past weekend, we were honored to welcome Alejandra Fuentes, a professional in international development and Miss Honduras, who represented the country at Miss Universe, to our NIDO Youth Center in Cantarranas.

During her visit, Alejandra shared her personal and professional journey with our students, reflecting on how perseverance, discipline, preparation, and self-confidence can open doors to creating meaningful impact, both in Honduras and around the world.

Thank you, Alejandra, for taking the time to inspire the next generation of rural leaders. 💙

Our youth leaders in Cantarranas identified an environmental challenge in their community and took action by designing awareness signs, organizing a community cleanup, and inspiring others to help protect the places they call home.

These projects are about more than cleaner roads. They help young people discover that they have the power to create positive change through leadership and service.

Una semana después de la II Cumbre RuralED Honduras 2026, seguimos reflexionando sobre las voces que dieron vida a este encuentro.

Aunque los participantes provenían de distintos sectores e instituciones, muchos coincidieron en un mismo mensaje: la educación rural sí importa, la colaboración es indispensable y la juventud rural tiene un enorme potencial para transformar sus comunidades.

Estas reflexiones nos recuerdan que la Cumbre fue mucho más que un espacio para intercambiar ideas. Fue una oportunidad para fortalecer una comunidad de personas y organizaciones comprometidas con ampliar las oportunidades para la juventud rural de Honduras.

Gracias a cada participante, panelista, moderador, aliado y voluntario por hacer posible este encuentro. Sus ideas, experiencia y compromiso son los que dan fuerza a este movimiento.

Last week, members of Educate2Envision's Board of Directors traveled to Honduras during one of the most meaningful weeks of our year.

They experienced the II Cumbre RuralED Honduras 2026, joining conversations with government leaders, universities, civil society organizations, private sector representatives, and rural youth about the future of rural education in Honduras.

After the Summit, they continued the journey, traveling into the mountains of Francisco Morazán and Comayagua to visit two of our secondary schools. There, they met with students, educators, staff, and community members, gaining a firsthand understanding of both the challenges and the extraordinary potential that exist in these communities.

At Educate2Envision, we believe strong governance starts with staying connected to the communities we serve. Experiencing both the national dialogue and the realities on the ground gives our Board the insight and perspective to help guide E2E's future.

We are deeply grateful to our Board members for investing their time, expertise, and leadership in our mission.

The II Cumbre RuralED Honduras 2026 has come to a close, but the conversations it sparked, and the partnerships it strengthened, are just beginning.

Over two days, rural youth, educators, community leaders, civil society organizations, government institutions, businesses, academia, and international partners came together around a shared belief: every young person deserves access to opportunities, regardless of where they are born.

The Cumbre was a space to exchange ideas, strengthen relationships, and explore how we can work together to transform rural education in Honduras.

We are deeply grateful to every speaker, moderator, sponsor, partner, and participant who made this second edition possible. Your commitment and collaboration are what made this gathering meaningful.

The Summit may be over, but the work continues.

Together, we move from dialogue to action.

We are incredibly grateful to once again be selected as the charity partner of Coffee Expo 2026.

Through this year's charity auction, HOCE will help raise funds to support Educate2Envision's rural education programs serving youth in Honduras' coffee-growing communities.

This week, our Comayagua Regional Coordinator, Joel Guerrero, attended the official launch event alongside HOCE Director, Juan Carlos Pineda, celebrating another year of partnership built around a shared belief: investing in rural youth is investing in the future of Honduras.

We're especially excited because this year's Expo will be held in Comayagua, giving students from our surrounding E2E schools the opportunity to participate as volunteers. Beyond lending a hand, they will gain firsthand exposure to Honduras' specialty coffee industry and discover the many career and entrepreneurship opportunities that exist throughout the coffee value chain.

Thank you to the entire HOCE team, especially Juan Carlos, for believing in the power of education and for continuing to invest in the young people who will shape the future of our coffee communities.

Some of the world's greatest potential is found in places that are too often overlooked.

Today, we are proud to celebrate Erick, a young artist from the eastern coffee-producing region of Trojes, Honduras, whose journey embodies the mission of Educate2Envision.

As an E2E student, Erick earned a scholarship to attend the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes, where he refined his artistic talent and continued pursuing his passion for the arts.

Now, he has achieved another remarkable milestone: earning a full scholarship to study at the Universidad Argentina John F. Kennedy in Argentina.

Erick is the first Educate2Envision student to receive a full scholarship to study abroad.

His story is a testament to what can happen when talented young people from rural communities are given access to quality education and the opportunity to pursue their dreams. It is also a reminder that geography should never determine a young person's future.

Congratulations, Erick. We are honored to have been part of your journey and look forward to all that you will accomplish in the years ahead. Your success inspires us and the next generation of rural youth who will follow in your footsteps.

La II Cumbre RuralED Honduras 2026 nos invita a pasar del diálogo a la acción.

A lo largo de esta edición exploraremos algunos de los desafíos y oportunidades que marcarán el futuro de la educación rural en Honduras:

-Resultados y aprendizajes de las iniciativas impulsadas por la Red RuralED durante el último año.

-Inteligencia artificial, agrotecnología y nuevas oportunidades para la juventud rural.

-Cambio climático y educación rural pertinente para un mundo cambiante.

-Emprendimiento juvenil y el potencial económico de los territorios rurales.

-Un diálogo multisectorial sobre las decisiones y alianzas necesarias para transformar la educación rural.

Creemos que las soluciones más sostenibles nacen cuando comunidades, gobiernos, sociedad civil, academia y sector privado trabajan juntos con un propósito común.

🌱 Leadership is growing across Comayagua!

Recently, students from our E2E schools came together for another regional leadership gathering filled with teamwork, learning, reflection, and connection.

These gatherings are held every quarter to give students the opportunity to interact with youth leaders from neighboring E2E schools, continue building regional networks of rural leaders, share best practices, and strengthen their sense of community and collaboration. 💛

Throughout the day, students exchanged ideas, participated in group activities, and continued developing the leadership skills needed to create change in their schools and communities.

We are incredibly proud of these young leaders and excited to see how they continue inspiring others across the region. 🌱
