This week, our hearts are full as we reflect on the beautiful visit from our team from Kentucky. Thank you for your outpouring of love over our country, our children, and our families at Casa de Luz.

This week was filled with meaningful moments: from learning what it means to be fishers of men, to pouring a new floor for a family, to a joyful field day with our teenagers, full of laughter and connection.

It was all a beautiful picture of the Gospel in action.

The most impactful time was spent in prayer and ministry, pouring into our Casa de Luz families, sharing God’s Word, and bringing the hope of the Gospel to every heart.

Thank you, Kentucky team, for saying “yes,” for giving your time, and for loving so well. You are a blessing to us, and we already look forward to the next time God brings you back. 💛

Every year, on July 20th, we celebrate Lempira Day, honoring the brave indigenous leader who courageously defended Honduran lands against Spanish conquest. Lempira remains a symbol of resistance, identity, and national pride that continues to inspire our country. 🇭🇳

In a country where over 60% of the population lives in poverty , many families face the daily challenge of choosing how to provide for their children while keeping them safe. For so many single moms and hardworking parents, leaving home to find the “pan de cada día” is not a choice, it’s a necessity.

Casa de Luz steps in by creating safe, loving environments where children are not only protected, but nurtured. A place where their bellies are full, their hearts are cared for, and their minds are free to learn, dream, and grow.

Because safety matters.
Because nourishment matters.
Because every child deserves the chance to thrive.

We are incredibly grateful to Wyomissing Chapel for an amazing week of service at Casa de Luz. From pouring into our children through VBS, to helping build a new floor, to spending time visiting and praying with the elderly.

Thank you also for taking the time to share special talks and personal testimonies with our teenagers. We pray that the seeds planted in their hearts will continue to grow and have a lasting impact on their lives and future.

Thank you for your servant hearts and for blessing our country, our community, and our children in such meaningful ways. 💙🇭🇳

We had such a special time during our Mini VBS with the Davis Evangelical Team!

Through the story of Jesus calming the storm, the children learned a powerful truth: no matter how big the storms in our lives may feel, Jesus is always in control. When the winds and waves seemed overwhelming, Jesus simply spoke...and there was peace.

It was beautiful to see the kids worship, learn, and grow in their faith through games, lessons, and time together.

May we all remember that in every storm, we can trust Jesus to bring peace. 💙

Environment Day in Honduras 💚🌎
By letting creativity flow, our little ones learned that protecting the Earth begins with simple but powerful actions: creating, reusing, and recycling. ♻️🌱

At Casa de Luz, we believe that feeding a child goes far beyond filling an empty stomach. Every meal we serve brings strength, nourishment, and relief to hungry little bodies. But what we are most passionate about is feeding something even deeper.....the soul.

Each day, alongside warm meals, we offer love, encouragement, and truth. We create a safe place where children are seen, valued, and reminded that they have purpose. Through conversations, laughter, prayer, and guidance, we plant seeds of hope that will grow far beyond today.

Physical food sustains them for the moment, but spiritual nourishment gives them strength for a lifetime.

At Casa de Luz, we are not only fighting hunger we are restoring dignity, building faith, and shaping futures. 💙

We were delighted to host Casa de Luz founder, Marilyn Brautigam, and a special group of visitors from her home church of Old Cutler Presbyterian Church in Florida.

During her visit, Marilyn was delighted to experience the growth and expanded reach of Casa de Luz, as well as spend some quality time with our precious children!

A week of learning, creativity, and fun at Casa de Luz 💛

Our teenagers enjoyed time together playing cards and ping pong, while also learning valuable skills like sewing. Meanwhile, our children explored the joy of reading, building with blocks, coloring, and playing together in a supportive environment. Even our preschoolers joined in, discovering the magic of books and early learning 📚

All of these moments, though simple, are transforming their lives in meaningful ways creating a safe place where they can explore the world with confidence and security. Casa de Luz is more than a space; it is a place where they are free to grow, learn, and discover safely ✨
