We are more than school sponsorship.

A child may come through our doors because they need help with reading or math, or because they need notebooks for school. But that’s rarely the only thing they need.

Sometimes they need encouragement, sometimes they need a meal, sometimes they need someone to listen and sometimes they simply need a safe place to belong.

Somos más que un programa de patrocinio escolar.

Un niño puede llegar a nuestras puertas porque necesita ayuda con la lectura o las matemáticas, o porque necesita cuadernos para la escuela. Pero casi nunca eso es lo único que necesita.

A veces necesita que lo animen, a veces necesita un plato de comida, a veces necesita que alguien lo escuche, y a veces, simplemente necesita un lugar seguro donde sentirse parte de algo.

I promised you guys some snapshots of Honduras during this very busy month, and we’ve already celebrated plenty of holidays!

September 1st celebrates our blue-and-white, five-starred flag, while September 10th was Children’s Day—a day with the same level of excitement as Christmas morning for Honduran kids, filled with cake and piñatas, games and candy!

And today marks the biggest holiday of the month—Honduran Independence Day! Students have been practicing for months for the big parade, and today we get to see their hard work pay off as bands, baton twirlers, cheerleaders, and kids in costume march through the streets with pride for their country.

It’s a celebration of this beautiful nation and all the things that make Honduras special. 🇭🇳

Talk about impact! 🎓❤️

Three years ago, Maria Fernanda graduated from high school through our program, but she knew her academic journey wasn’t over.

She was given the opportunity to apply for a scholarship at a local private university, where she was accepted into a two-year program in Network Installation.

For the past two years, Maria Fernanda has worked full-time while studying in the evenings. And this weekend, we had the incredible joy of watching her graduate from university!

The hard work, determination, and drive are all hers. But your generosity helped give her the opportunity to take this next step.

Maria Fernanda’s story is exactly why we believe every child deserves a fair chance at an education. When young people are given the opportunity to learn and grow, they can go further than anyone may have imagined. They are full of potential, and there are big things ahead for them!

Hace tres años, María Fernanda se graduó de secundaria a través de nuestro programa, pero sabía que su camino académico aún no había terminado.

Tuvo la oportunidad de solicitar una beca en una universidad privada local, donde fue aceptada para estudiar un programa de dos años en Instalación de Redes.

Durante los últimos dos años, María Fernanda ha trabajado a tiempo completo mientras estudiaba por las noches. ¡Y este fin de semana tuvimos la enorme alegría de verla graduarse de la universidad!

El esfuerzo, la determinación y las ganas de salir adelante son completamente suyos. Pero la generosidad de nuestros donantes ayudó a darle la oportunidad de dar este siguiente paso.

La historia de María Fernanda nos recuerda por qué creemos que cada niño merece una oportunidad justa de recibir una educación. Cuando los jóvenes tienen la oportunidad de aprender y crecer, pueden llegar mucho más lejos de lo que nadie imaginó. Están llenos de potencial, ¡y tienen grandes cosas por delante!
