Well-organized, affordable, and one of the best volunteer options in Central America--Honduras Child Alliance provides educational enrichment and healthy living programs for children, teens, and adults, in the seaside town of El Porvenir, Atlántida, HN. Honduras Child Alliance operates community-based programs that support educational enrichment and healthy living so that our students can pursue e

ducation and employment opportunities that would otherwise be unavailable. Programs reinforce basic academics, improve literacy in both Spanish and English, build competency in computers, and cultivate an exploration of science and the arts. By fostering positive self-expression, leadership talents, and employment possibilities, we nourish confidence and self-esteem. With support from international volunteers, donors, and like-minded organizations, programs are provided at 3 community locations at no cost to the students.

We're thrilled to announce that three of HCA's interns have been selected as PEP-Líderes — a special leadership opportunity within our 'PEP-Professionals' program!
Lester, Genesis, and Eymi have each stepped into an expanded role, taking on oversight of a PEP classroom and an additional area of operations:

⚽ Fútbol break? More like English class warmup. 😄 Fútbol, soccer, soccer, fútbol — 👀 At Honduras Child Alliance, our programs are 100% voluntary — kids show up because they WANT to be there. No pressure, just passion. And when the lesson's over? Back to the soccer ball… oops. Fútbol. 😄 Being bilingual is a superpower. Being a volunteer is the adventure of a lifetime. 🌟🇭🇳

Spoiler alert: Tengo ocho años, "I have eight years" hits differently than "I am eight years old" — but hey, we're working on it! 😂 Our PEP+ learners are practicing, giggling, and occasionally inventing their own version of English… and our volunteers Daniel (Canada/HN) and Blake (USA) are HERE for it.

Our PEP-Adultos students are showing UP — twice a week, every week, putting in the practice to master conversational English for higher education and careers in business, tourism, and more. Shoutout to instructors Cristian, Mayrin, and Ester, and HCA volunteers Blake (USA) and Daniel (Canada/HN) for making every class count at PEP-3. Being bilingual? That's a superpower we all can use! 💪🇭🇳
