ODRM was created as a way to tangibly serve the young people and the community of Ciudad Espana in Honduras. We work with young people through education sponsorships, job training, discipleship, and legal & pastoral help during incarceration & upon release. We are firm believers that relationships are what bring people to healing and Christ.

Arbor Day was commemorated last week, and in honor of the occasion, students from a local school held a parade today.

As part of the event, the students marched through the community's main streets, carrying banners and messages highlighting the importance of reforestation and environmental care.

La semana pasada se conmemoró el Día del Árbol y, en honor a esta fecha, hoy alumnos de un centro educativo de nuestra comunidad realizaron un desfile.

Como parte de la actividad, los estudiantes recorrieron las principales calles de la comunidad portando pancartas y mensajes alusivos a la importancia de la reforestación y el cuidado del medio ambiente.

In class, our young students observed the globe and named the countries in our region, demonstrating a keen interest in learning about the world around them. They participated enthusiastically—identifying places, sharing ideas, and expanding their geographical knowledge in a dynamic and meaningful way.

Additionally, during our afternoon reading session, our theme was “Secrets of Planet Earth,” through which everyone came to understand that our planet is home to all living things. Through this reading, they reflected on the importance of the Earth as a place that sustains life and provides us with abundant natural resources.🌎

En la clase, nuestros pequeños estuvieron observando el globo terráqueo y mencionando los países de nuestra región, demostrando gran interés por conocer el mundo que los rodea. Con entusiasmo participaron identificando lugares, compartiendo ideas y ampliando sus conocimientos de geografía de manera dinámica y significativa.

También, en la tarde de lectura tuvimos como tema “Secretos del planeta Tierra”, donde cada uno pudo comprender que nuestro planeta es el hogar de todos los seres vivos. A través de esta lectura, reflexionaron sobre la importancia de Tierra como un espacio que nos brinda vida y muchos recursos naturales.🌎

Today, we held a meeting with parents with the aim of providing information and engaging in a dialogue regarding academic performance for the first grading period.

We shared the progress achieved by the students, as well as the areas where learning needs to be reinforced to improve academic performance.

Additionally, recommendations were provided to parents on how to continue supporting their children from home.

Furthermore, we outlined upcoming activities that will be carried out collaboratively.

Hoy tuvimos una reunión con los padres de familia con el propósito de informar y dialogar sobre el rendimiento académico correspondiente al primer parcial.

Se compartieron los avances obtenidos por los estudiantes, así como las áreas en las que es necesario reforzar el aprendizaje para mejorar el desempeño académico.

Asimismo, se brindaron recomendaciones a los padres de familia para continuar apoyando a sus hijos desde el hogar.

De igual manera, se dieron a conocer las próximas actividades que se estarán realizando en conjunto.

This Sunday, May 10th, we celebrate Mother's Day—a very special occasion to recognize the love, dedication, and effort of all moms.

With great affection and enthusiasm, our little ones created a beautiful handmade gift to present to that very special person, expressing through every detail the immense love and gratitude they feel for them.

Este domingo 10 de mayo se celebra el Día de las Madres, una fecha muy especial para reconocer el amor, la dedicación y el esfuerzo de todas las mamás.

Con mucho cariño y entusiasmo, nuestros pequeños realizaron una hermosa manualidad para entregar a esa persona tan especial, expresando a través de cada detalle el gran amor y agradecimiento que sienten por ellas.

During these days of intense heat, we have transformed the summer into an opportunity to share special moments with our little ones.

Amidst laughter, water games, and plenty of creativity, we enjoyed a day filled with fun at our ministry home. ☀️💦

En estos días de calor intenso, hemos transformado el verano en una oportunidad para compartir momentos especiales con nuestros pequeños.

Entre risas, juegos con agua y mucha creatividad, hemos disfrutado de una jornada llena de diversión en nuestra casa ministerial. ☀️💦

Did you know that this week is National Library Week?!

We are the number 1 fan of public libraries for so many reasons, but let's start with the fact that they give a special place to every person, regardless of age, gender, nationality, level of education, etc.

Libraries are safe places where every person can find something that interests them, nourishes them, gives them shelter, and ultimately helps them grow.

As every year, we are pleased to deliver food supplies at the beginning of this month to families in great need in our community.

On this occasion, we had the great blessing of distributing 50 bags of food, each containing: rice, beans, sugar, flour, cornmeal, tomato sauce, spaghetti, salt, oatmeal, chicken bouillon cubes, vegetable shortening, margarine, and coffee.

Two young missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints also joined us for this distribution. We sincerely thank everyone who supports and makes this wonderful cause possible. ❤️
