The Princess Royal Award for Emerging Engineers promotes and rewards excellence in the originality and communication of civil engineering ideas and research. Are you interested in sharing your latest research 🔍💻, winning cash prizes💰and potentially having a go up against foreign students and graduates👷🏻? Here comes the chance 🚀❗

The Princess Royal Award for Emerging Engineers 2027 is now open for application🗣️. It is a competition in which all ICE Graduate and Student Members are invited to submit a paper on one of the four disciplines of civil engineering on engineering design, research or practice:
1️⃣ Structures and materials
2️⃣ Geotechnics
3️⃣ Environment, hydraulics and hydrology
4️⃣ Highways, railways and transportation

Shortlisted applicants will first compete in the Hong Kong Regional Final in 2027 and the winner may be shortlisted to compete in the international final in the UK for the ultimate cash prize and the prestigious Institution Medal.

In the first stage of the competition, only a synopsis of the paper (400 words) is required! Do grab the chance and submit your entry before the deadline!

📌 Release of shortlist results: 14 December 2026 (Monday)
📌 Submission of full paper (for shortlisted candidates): 30 December 2026 (Wednesday)

👷🏻‍♀️ G&S: mock CPR workshop 2026 👷🏻

The ICE HKA G&S mock Chartered Professional Review (CPR) workshop was successfully held on 15 August 2026 🎉. The workshop provided participants with a realistic experience of the CPR process and helped strengthen their preparedness and confidence as they work towards professional qualification.

Through mock presentations and interviews, candidates had the opportunity to demonstrate their professional experience against the seven ICE attributes, followed by constructive feedback from the facilitators. The interactive Q&A session also provided valuable insights into CPR preparation, with Dr Gordon Leung, ICE Membership Development Specialist, sharing practical tips on effective presentation, clear communication and confidently explaining engineering challenges and solutions.

On behalf of ICE HKA G&S, we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Mr Karl Tse and Mr Neil Wong for their invaluable support and guidance 🙏🏻.
