Join us at the AWA Member Space on Wednesday Sept. 9th for an inspiring talk by Uzma Vaveed from the Centre for Refugees. Uzma, a powerful former TEDx Tin Hau speaker, will share her experinece fleeing to Hong Kong with her family.

She will be joined by Jeff Andrews, one of Hong Kong's first non-Chinese registered social workers and a recipient of numerous awards.

The Centre for Refugees assists 750 asylum seekers & refugees each month, providing services to people who are often fleeing war, violence or persecution.

This is an AWA Club "Community Conversations" event designed to promote understanding & open to AWA members, friends, and non-members. Children who are 14 years & older are welcome!

Our Members recently had a creative afternoon in our member space. They attended a special summer collage workshop led by AWA Board Director Julie Petris.
Using glue, clever fabric layering techniques & paint-everyone explored how overlapping shapes, varied sizes, & thoughtful placement can build depth, movement, & create real visual impact.
During the workshop, simple materials transformed into striking, wall-ready artworks & the results were beautiful!
There’s nothing like creating together!
