Why do we always hear that we have to fit into just one box? We all carry multiple social identities. But when we overlook this complexity, it forces people into single, flat “categories” or “labels”. Coined by American scholar Kimberlé Crenshaw in 1989, "intersectionality" provides the lens we need to understand every individual's unique, layered experiences. Swipe to learn more~
This month, building on many international awareness days addressing different communities, we are launching series! Over the coming weeks, we will dive deeper into topics ranging from dignified aging, gender, disability, and race, and explore how overlapping identities affects individuals’ everyday experience. Stay tuned as we are unboxing more about intersectionality with you! ✨
