Resolve Foundation Hong Kong

Resolve Foundation Hong Kong Resolve Foundation aims to empower future community leaders for an inclusive Hong Kong. Resolve

Resolve Foundation is a Hong Kong-based NGO and was founded in 2017 with a mission to empower emerging leaders from underrepresented and marginalized communities to be catalysts for positive change. ows every year from diverse walks of life. In this first cycle of Fellowships, under the umbrella of ‘Lifting Barriers, Removing Stigmas’, Resolve held three fellowships on racial equality and inclusion (2018), ending gender-based violence together (2019) and disABILITIES and empowerment (2020). In 2021, Resolve is launching the Every Action Matters campaign in the form of releasing an Equality Toolkit and three virtual experiential workshops, offering practical tips on how to be a better ally and active bystander to marginalized communities in our everyday life. You can visit our website for more details.

2018年計劃主題為種族平等與包容(Racial Equality and Inclusion)、2019年計劃主題為攜手叫停性暴力(Ending Gender-Based Violence Together)和2020年計劃主題為無障礙對話 推動殘疾人平權(disABILITIES and Empowerment: Less Assumptions, More Conversations)。

Why do we always hear that we have to fit into just one box? We all carry multiple social identities. But when we overlook this complexity, it forces people into single, flat “categories” or “labels”. Coined by American scholar Kimberlé Crenshaw in 1989, "intersectionality" provides the lens we need to understand every individual's unique, layered experiences. Swipe to learn more~

This month, building on many international awareness days addressing different communities, we are launching series! Over the coming weeks, we will dive deeper into topics ranging from dignified aging, gender, disability, and race, and explore how overlapping identities affects individuals’ everyday experience. Stay tuned as we are unboxing more about intersectionality with you! ✨

【Amy includes mentorship into everyday change 🫶 Amy

"Through Resolve I was open to actual experience of diversity, and learned to be patient... I learned I am best as a people-connector, not a problem-owner." — Amy Lee, 2023-2025 Mentor

Amy is an inclusive university professor and a third-time Mentor who redefines leadership through strategic patience. She specializes in turning personal networks into public good, helping emerging community leaders build their own compass.

Starting as a classroom "buddy" for those out of sync, Amy has spent years championing unconventional voices. At Resolve, she guides emerging leaders from raw ideas to scaling impactful, community trusted NGOs.

“I am not here to hand out a map I am here to help changemakers build their own compass”
Through her journey at Resolve, Amy learned to give others the space to discover their own compass.

【Being a role model for students – Miss Bibi as an inclusive educator 🌱

Miss Bibi Sumna, a math teacher at the Academy of Innovation (Confucius Hall), moved to Hong Kong from Pakistan at age six. Although fluent in Chinese, she is categorized as a "Non-Chinese Speaking" (NCS) professional, using herself to serve as a role model. Her mission is personal: “To let other young people know if I can do it, you can do it too.”

Through Resolve’s Stand By Me School Program, Miss Bibi witnessed a profound shift of the students. They evolved from quiet observers into active changemakers, eventually pitching their own inclusive school projects to the surprise of school leadership.

“It was a powerful reminder of how students feel and think—a perspective educators sometimes forget in the hustle of their daily routines.”

The program also equipped teachers with a “micro-inclusion” mindset. Miss Bibi now fosters belonging through practicing them into the daily rhythm of school life. Her ultimate dream is an environment free of racial discrimination

Miss Bibi

【Lily‘s internship experience at Resolve – Learning from opportunities ✍🏻

“Through my study, I became more aware of how marginalized groups around the world often struggle to exercise their agency or realize their full potential.”

Lily Kwun, an Asian and International Studies student at CityU, joined Resolve as a summer intern in 2025 with a desire to turn her passion for social inclusion into local impact.

During her internship, she took part in revamping Resolve’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. From redesigning data workflows to leading her first team-wide training session for staff and with a board member, Lily transformed her initial nerves into professional confidence. She learned to navigate stakeholder management and tailor information for different levels of members — skills she developed through the hands-on nature of the role.

“Everyone’s ideas were genuinely valued... I felt trusted to contribute to discussions and even participate in decisions.”

Through this experience, Lily discovered her strength in project-based work and a deep commitment to community-driven change. Supported by an inclusive culture, she moved beyond her comfort zone to become a more confident, skilled professional. 💼
