🏮 Lannang Symposium 2026 Concludes Successfully in Davao City 🏮

On July 10–11, 2026, the Lannang Symposium 2026 successfully brought together members of the Chinese Filipino community, educators, students, scholars, and language advocates at Davao Chong Hua High School in Davao City for two days of learning, dialogue, and community engagement. The symposium marked the first time the annual gathering was held in Mindanao.

With the theme “Beyond Boundaries, Beyond Tradition,” participants took part in language workshops, lectures, panel discussions, cultural activities, and interactive sessions exploring Lánnang-uè (Philippine Hokkien), Lannang identity, history, and community. The program also featured a Chinatown Walking Tour, allowing participants to discover Davao’s historic Chinese Filipino heritage and cultural landmarks.

The symposium reaffirmed the importance of preserving and promoting Lánnang-uè while creating opportunities for intergenerational dialogue, cultural exchange, and community building. By bringing together participants from diverse backgrounds and generations, the event strengthened collective efforts to ensure that the language and heritage of the Lannang community continue to thrive for generations to come.

The Lannang Symposium is organized annually by The Lannang Archives, a nonprofit organization dedicated to documenting, preserving, and promoting the language, history, and culture of the Lannang community.

When it comes to Kuí-géh, we mostly hear a lot of do's and don'ts. But what about food, the universal love language of Lannangs?

We asked TLA members to share their family's go-to offerings during this month and the meaning behind them. Let's take a look!
