Hong Kong Radiographers' Association (HKRA) was formed when two professional bodies of radiographers merged in 1990, namely the Association of Government Radiographers (AGR), founded in 1974, and the Hong Kong Diagnostic Radiographers Association (HKDRA), founded in 1980s from graduates of the Hong Kong Polytechnic Institute. HKRA is a union for radiographers (diagnostic and therapeutic) in Hong Kong registered under the Allied Health Professions Council Chapter 359.

由長天全人教育基金會，香港眼科視光師學會(HKSPO)，香港放射師協會(HKRA)，香港物理治療師協會(HKPU)，長沙灣天主教英文中學及深水埗區學校，舉辦專職醫療及健康講座系列II 在上星期六，十月二十四日已經順利完成。是場是放射學講座，很高興HKRA的會長，委員以及小組委員擔任講者。會長伍達明先生，委員梁海寧先生、黃子龍博士、李永耀先生、以及Isaac和Kathy帶來精彩演講，深入講解輻射常識、診斷放射學、放射治療學以及香港放射科的學制及註冊情況。讓師生認識輻射在醫療上的應用及不恰當的使用帶來禍害的重要性。感謝各講者的分享，亦多謝學校、師生、家長及校友支持。本系列後續會繼續推出最後一個專職醫療及健康主題，11月份有物理治療科。

The CSW CSS All-round Education Foundation, The Hong Kong Society of Professional Optometrists (HKSPO), the Hong Kong Radiographers’ Association (HKRA), Hong Kong Physiotherapists' Union (HKPU), Cheung Sha Wan Catholic Secondary School, and Sham Shui Po district schools was successfully completed last Saturday, 24 October.

This session focused on Radiography. We were delighted to have the HKRA President, Committee Members and Subcommittee Members as our speakers. Mr. Ng Tat Ming, the Association’s Chairman; Committee Members Mr. Leung Hoi Ning, Dr. Wong Tsz Lung, Mr. Lee Wing Yiu, together with Isaac and Kathy, delivered insightful talks covering radiation fundamentals, diagnostic radiography, radiation therapy, as well as the academic pathways and registration arrangements for radiography in Hong Kong.

The session helped participants understand the medical applications of radiation and the risks associated with improper use. We are grateful to all speakers for their sharing, and to the school, teachers, students, parents and alumni for their support.

The series will conclude with one final allied health theme in November, featuring physiotherapy.

The Hong Kong Radiographers Association will continue to foster interprofessional collaboration and bring more specialised career information to students and parents!

Huge thanks and congratulations to the Macao Radiological Technologists’ Association (MRTA) for the kind invitation and warm hospitality during the 26th International Conference and has a great success. It has been such a rewarding discussion participating the Greater Bay Area and Cross‑Strait‑Hong‑Kong‑Macao radiological technologists’ exchange meetings.
HKRA would also like to express our sincere gratitude to our HKRA presenters, Dr. Jacky Wong and Dr. Marco Tam, for their valuable sharing with other regions. This fantastic gathering creates precious exposure opportunities, enabling our HKRA members and radiography students to explore wider industry perspectives. They get to connect with peers across regions, exchange practical insights on imaging standards, CPD programmes and clinical practices. Truly value this meaningful platform for knowledge sharing and future collaboration.

衷心感謝並恭賀澳門放射師學會（MRTA），在第26屆國際會議期間作出盛情邀請與熱情款待，而是次會議亦圓滿舉辦、取得莫大成功。能夠參加大灣區及兩岸港澳放射師交流會，各項討論讓我們獲益良多。

香港放射師協會（HKRA）亦謹此向本會講者黃子龍博士（Dr. Jacky Wong）與譚丞佑博士（Dr. Marco Tam）致以衷心謝意，感謝兩位向各地與會者作出寶貴的分享。這場精彩的聚會締造了寶貴的拓闊眼界之機會，讓本會會員及放射學學生可以探索更廣闊的行業視野。大家得以跟各地同業建立聯繫，圍繞造影標準、持續專業發展（CPD）課程與臨床實務交換實務見解。我們十分珍惜這個促進知識共享以及日後合作及交流的平台。

We are grateful to the Macao Medical Physics Association (MMPA) for extending the invitation to HKRA, for its Inauguration Ceremony on 20 September 2026.

Heartfelt congratulations to MMPA on this meaningful milestone. MMPA Chairman Dr. Michelle Lei and Vice-Chairman Dr. Vitor Liu shared their association planing and development of medical physics in Macau. We value this cross‑regional professional platform for medical physics and radiography. The first session featured an Optometry Lecture, with Dr. Law Ka‑Kin as guest speaker. Dr. Law delivered an engaging presentation, offering in‑depth insights into eye care and helping teachers, students, parents, and alumni understand the importance of vision health. We sincerely thank Dr. Law for his valuable sharing, and extend our gratitude to the schools, teachers, students, parents, and alumni for their support.

This series will continue with diverse allied health and wellness topics: Radiography in October and Physiotherapy in November. The Hong Kong Radiographers’ Association remains committed to promoting cross‑professional collaboration and providing students and parents with more specialized career information.

2026 GDRTA 18th International Conference was held 13 Sep 2026 in Ajou University, Suwon, Republic of Korea. 2 HKRA members, as representatives of Hong Kong, participated in the event and gave presentations to share local practices in Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy. The theme this year is Beyond : Expanding the Depth of Knowledge, Advancing Toward Global Research. There will be more collaborations between Hong Kong, Korea and many other regions all over the world. Keep updated about exchange events coordinated by HKRA.

香港放射師協會（HKRA）欣然報告，本會執行委員會成員 Mr Alex Leung及 Dr Jacky Wong於2026年9月11日至13日赴日本山形市，出席第42屆日本放射技術師大會（42JCRT）暨第33屆東亞放射技術師會議（33EACRT），並分別發表口頭學術報告。

會議概況

本屆大會由日本放射技術師協會（JART）主辦，山形縣放射技術師協會協辦，獲日本厚生勞動省、日本放射技術學會、山形縣及山形市政府支持。本屆EACRT與42JCRT同期舉行，為與會者提供了更廣泛的學術交流與技術展示機會。

大會主題為「新潮流，恆久光：以人與AI共塑放射技術的未來」，並配合JART 2025年度口號「安全與信任：履行放射技術師的使命與責任」，體現了在AI快速發展的背景下，放射技術專業既需擁抱變革，亦要堅守專業傳承與責任擔當。

深化國際專業交流

HKRA作為香港註冊的放射師工會，一直致力推動專業發展及國際交流，目前為國際放射師與放射技術師學會（ISRRT）的成員學會。

是次兩位執委遠赴日本發表學術報告，不僅展示了香港放射技術專業人員的研究實力，亦進一步鞏固了HKRA與日本、韓國、台灣等東亞地區專業組織的聯繫。HKRA將繼續秉持「促進專業發展，保障診斷及治療放射師的福祉，以更好地服務公眾」的使命，積極參與國際學術交流，為會員開拓更廣闊的專業發展空間。
